NICU check-in?

It is really hard to leave baby in the NICU for any time, whether it's a few days or a few weeks. I know we've got a few moms here who will have lengthy stays, and personally I would love to have a place to talk about my feelings and what's going on with LO.
I'm thinking of starting a check-in tomorrow and posting it every Sunday morning, if we've got enough interest. I'll stop when there's only 1-2 of us left.

Is this something people would be interested in?

I just want to say I'm here for support, questions and hugs for anyone who needs. I may not have had this exact situation but each time I delivered was giving the run down and expectation of nicu stay w all 5 kids I hope to be able to lend and ear or even answer a question if needed. Xoxo

I think it's a great idea. I'll most likely be going home tomorrow and can't imagine how awful it's going to be leaving both babies behind. It would be nice to have a place here to talk about everything.

Yes yes and yes! Excellent idea! Leaving LO in the NICU made me ugly cry every night when I left! Thoughts and prayers to the mommas with LOs in the NICU!

Big ((hugs)) to all you mamas who have LOs in the NICU!!! I can't imagine how hard it must be to leave them there everyday. Just thinking about it (and I still have an inside baby) makes me tear up and start to cry. Although I don't have a LO in the NICU (I'm praying I can avoid it when my LO arrives in approx 9 days) I can imagine having a regular post where everyone who does can comfort and support one another would be awesome.

@angiev84 I don't know if this is a normal nicu thing, but mine gave me a phone number I can call 24/7 to check on LO. Last night was our first night home, and it sucked, but it really helped to be able to call and talk to the nurse and know he's doing well. See I yours can do something like that!

I'm glad this is something people want! I'll start it tomorrow morning.

So did mine! We could also visit 22 hours a day. Only time we couldn't was during 2 shift changes because they have a meeting about all of the babies.

Oh that's great! I'm sure we have something similar, I just haven't talked to them about details yet until we know exactly what's going to happen tomorrow.

I think this is a great idea. We left the NICU this week. The short amount of time he was in the NICU was the hardest time of my life. I feel for you mamas with a long stay.

This is a great idea!!! We are facing a lengthy nicu stay once our baby boy is born due to the surgery he'll need within the first week after birth. We are lucky that our nicu allows parents 24/7 and one parent can sleep at the bedside. I'm thankful we'll be in a place that allows this because I don't know if I could handle leaving him. My T&P are with all you ladies and your LOs already in the nicu.
