I'm 22 weeks and I feel flutters and small movements internally, but I am really struggling to feel them externally. I really have to push on my belly and focus to del slight movements?
It's probably still a little early to feel them externally. Probably have another couple weeks. I'm 24 weeks and haven't really felt them externally either.
I've been feeling them externally for awhile. But you not feeling them externally doesn't mean anything and shouldn't cause you to worry . Some people aren't feeling anything at all still. Every baby is different, every pregnant body is different, every pregnancy is different. Give it some time.
I think all you can do is wait. They'll get stronger. I can feel them occasionally on the outside but not very often (20w3d). Usually just when something really gets her going and even then, it's not consistent.
I've felt some from the outside. The first time was only a few days ago. Baby has to be in just the right spot. I think the only reason I was able to was because I'm a STM so having felt a baby before, the stronger kicks reminded me of ones I'd felt from the outside last time. I don't think I even tried to feel from the outside til much later last time.
It is still so early. Nothing to worry about. You'll feel them from the outside, promise. And see them, too. Kick AND the rolling around, which is trippy. I remember by the end, DD would do these full body crocodile rolls and it was craaaazy.
I actually felt my first flutter at 16w but it wasn't until week 21 that DH could feel externally. I wouldn't worry too much, the kicks have been getting noticeably stronger during that period so it probably will just take time to feel on the outside.
My MW said you normally don't feel outside kicks until 28+weeks.. Which was about right with Dd1 but with this one my H felt baby at 19+4 weeks and I am now 22+2 weeks and have quite a few videos of the little bugger kicking up a storm it's crazy like Pp have said every baby and pregnancy are different I wouldn't be concerned at all
I only feel them on the outside if I push a little bit on my belly. As PPs said, it's still early, before you know it you'll start feeling them more and more.
I feel them externally, starting at 20 weeks- BUUUT- I am very short (5'1), an very short waisted, so I alway felt early. The con of this is that, now at 23 weeks (this is #3 for me), it is already becoming uncomfortable and I feel every. single. movement. 24/7. By the time I was 32 weeks before, I was out of my mind with discomfort. My doc said feeling external wasn't something they expected until after the 25th week.
I am 22 weeks as well and can only feel outside if I push on my belly. I feel the baby often but no one else can yet. My son is 9 so I honestly can't remember when I was able to feel him. Just give it time
We just felt externally the other night at 20.3weeks.... I drank oj and tea before bed and was laying there and I could see my belly jumping in places so DH finally got to feel!!! I didn't think this would happen so soon because I'm overweight... But laying on my back helps
I just felt the first kicks externally yesterday. My midwife said the position of my placenta would make it a bit harder and I only felt a couple though I felt more on the inside. It will get there. With my first two pregnancies it was around 20-22 weeks as well.
I just started feeling him externally this week at 21 weeks. Actually, my dog was lying on my lap yesterday and the baby kicked her right in the head. It was pretty strong cause it moved her head. I'm pretty slender and I felt him kick pretty early too at 17 weeks. My midwife told me to expect early movement because of my build and posterior placenta.
DH and my mom actually felt it today. It's very very slight. DH kept saying all he could feel was the pulse in his own hand. I think it just depends on your own body, baby's placement and such. I wouldn't worry if I were you.
I think it's kinda that special thing you get to experience with the baby before you share them with the whole world.
Nothing to worry about. Averages don't take variables such as body composition or placenta position into consideration.
I was able to feel DS from the outside at exactly 20w. With this one I have low-lying anterior placenta and am carrying about 15 lbs more weight (mostly around my gut...yay motherhood), and I can still only feel muffled movements on the inside even though I've felt flutters since 15w. Nothing on the outside yet.
Give it time.

This for me too. I forgot to mention that part. With DS I had to push pretty hard for quite a few weeks. I don't remember exactly when I started feeling him externally without applying pressure, but it was at least 25 weeks. Probably later.

DH felt baby kicking last night- and I'm finally convinced it wasn't just his wishful thinking. It's hard though. I need to be laying down on my back and he has to be patient. We lay in bed chatting before sleep he will put his hand on the bump and just leave it there waiting for a strong enough kick for a good 5-10 min.
I don't really have the patience to let anyone else grope me that low on the belly (she hangs out waaaay low) for that long though- so he's the only one to feel her yet.
