We haven't tried yet. We all have Klean Kanteens with the sport top and he keeps trying to chew on it whenever I get a drink. I think he will master it pretty quickly.
Just the other day she really "mastered" it. I have to help her tip it, because otherwise she just ends up sucking air, but she really chugs it back, lol
No. We didn't start with the sippy cup until 9 months with ds1. We use Klean kanteen. They are awesome. Our pediatrician said she doesn't like babies to start on water until around 9 months as they can get water poisoning or something from just a few ounces.
I feel clueless, it didn't even occur to me to start with a sippy cup at this point. I always picture toddlers with sippy cups. What are they drinking? Water, BM? Sheesh I'm glad I have you guys. Usually I feel like I'm pretty up on things lol! I guess I need to crack open the baby books once in awhile.
We use the sippy cup which he can drink out of. We will also just let him sip out of water bottles if we are out. @Cricket81 I use bottle water or filter fron the fridge.
Just had KJ's 6 month appointment on Wednesday and her doctor said we should give her 4-6oz of water every day in a sippy cup. I told her I was pushing it to get KJ to drink 25oz of BM so I didn't want to add water. I told her I would start with 2oz in the evening if she gets enough milk.
KJ doesn't hold her bottle so I don't know if she's ready for a cup.
I give my baby drinks from my water bottle or cup I am drinking out of. She goes crazy when I am taking a drink and will actually try to grab my glass from me to get some. She drinks well and swallows some but a lot still rolls down her chin.
DS loves his sippy cup. He loved chewing on the nipple right away. His has two handles on the side and it was maybe a week before he figured out how to grab it, tip it and drink from it. He also figured out that if the nipple is at the top he needs to flip it over to get water. Once he's had enough he still likes to chew on it and then let's the water just dribble out of his mouth...it can get messy!
