Milk, milk, milk!

Those of you that have switched from bf-ing to formula...is there one way better than another to do so? I have a small supply of frozen bm. How long do babies drink formula? I know I'm not to introduce cows milk before one year, are there any pros/cons to waiting? Thank you!

    I started supplementing with formula in December as I started to wean off the pumping during the week and stuck to bf at night and in the morning only.  I started by adding part formula/part bm to get her used to the new milk and to make sure she wasn't going to have any stomach issues.  Then I started putting more and more formula milk and now she only has formula milk in the morning while I am at work and bf only at night and in the morning before work.  DD2 is 10 months and I plan on doing it this way (did the same with DD1) until one year then I will start introducing cows milk.  With DD1, I was done with formula by 13 months.
