    Happy Friday!

Weight Loss? I haven't weighted myself.  I plan to do that on Tuesday

How many times did you work out and what did you do?  I went to the gym 3x this week.  I want to bump it up to 4x next week and add some T25 workouts

Goal for next week?  Drink 1 green smoothie everday

What keeps you motivated to continue working out/eating healthy? I want to be a healthy role model for DS and SO and I are getting married in November and I seriously need to lose 50 lbs.

  • Weight Loss?  No idea - DH still hasn't told me where he hid the scale.  I'm going to ask him to get it out this weekend, but put it in the basement so I only check it a couple times per week.

How many times did you work out and what did you do?  I walked on the treadmill twice: Sunday and Wednesday.  (Three times if you count last Saturday, too.)  Wednesday I did my grad school reading while on the treadmill, so that was extra productive!  I plan to walk again tonight and I am running on Saturday morning.

Goal for next week?  One strength workout, hit my goal steps each day, stay within my calorie range.

What keeps you motivated to continue working out/eating healthy?  The idea of being back to my pre-baby weight when we go on vacation in June.

Other updates from me:  My workout week would have been better - I had a time carved out to walk every day.  I had a 24 hour stomach bug on Sunday evening and Monday.  On Tuesday I was all set to go to the gym but had a pounding headache that I suspected was from eating nothing for 48 hours, so I decided to rest instead.  Thursday DD was very sick.

Also, my FitBit came this week!  I have it all set up on my computer.  There are some known sync issues with my particular phone so the app is wonky, but their customer service is supposedly working on it.  I forgot to have it track my sleep last night so I'll try to remember tonight.  I have it synced with MyFitness Pal and with my gym so I can earn their "health points" to get fun prizes.

I went to the info meeting for my new half marathon training group.  I moved and miss my old running group so much, so the meeting was really hard for me.  BUT I am going to try because I miss running and need to get to know some new people!  Our first run is Saturday morning.
  • @annieluvsjordan - Sickness around our house is killing my workouts, too!  I was just thinking that I own a couple of workout DVDs (some yoga, an exercise ball one, and the 30 Day Shred) and I should do those at home when DD is sick and I can't get to the gym or take her to walk outside.

I decided not to do the 21 Day Green Smoothie Challange ...

For a few reasons.  Mostly because I didn't like that it was a bite-by-bite guide.  Some of the recipes looked good, but there was little to no wiggle room if you follow the plan exactly.  I also knew I would not have the time to follow multiple new recipes a day.  I'm a slow recipe reader, so I can only try 3 new recipes a week tops!  I'm going to try a few of the recipes thought next week!  (Just not all of them!).

Also, I've never had a green smoothie, and I'm afraid to commit to them everyday before I try a few "for fun"!  LOL!

I did decide however to try the guidelines in the Dr. Oz 2 week rapid weight loss guide that @piphgirl posted about earlier this week.   https://www.doctoroz.com/slideshow/dr-ozs-2-week-rapid-weight-loss-plan-instructions

Me and a co-worker are going to start it Monday!  It will be nice to have a buddy at work doing this to, so we can compaire notes!

Its very similar ... smoothies for breakfast (although fruit, not green smoothines).  Alot of the guidelines and "what to eat" foods are very similar.  Plus its only 2 weeks instead of 3!  I'm editing it slightly because it only allows 1 serving of brown rice (1/2 cup) and 1 serving of lean mean (6 oz) per day, which I think is a little extream.  Espchally since DD is still BF a few times a day!  So I going to double the "grain" and meat.  But still be smart about my choices.

I'm also doing Weight Watchers, and I've been planning out some of my meals (and days) so I stay within Dr. Oz's guidelines, within my WW Points, and still get my requirements from WW suggestions and food groups.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Weight Loss?

I started Weight Watchers on Monday ... I weighed myself today and I am down 2 lbs!  But I think its mostly water weight. But I don'y care, 2 lbs is 2lbs.  I'm hoping to keep it up!

How many times did you work out and what did you do?

If we're couting the weekend I "worked out" 4 times.  If only since Monday, twice.

I spent 2 hours on Saturday and 2 hours on Sunday stripping wallpaper.  Lots of aerobic arm movements!  I used a wall paper steamer ... so it was sort of like "hot yoga", espchally since I was contorting myslef trying to reach the top!  I was rediculously sweatly when I was done!  Yuck!

I walked for 30 minutes on Monday and Wednesday with a co-worker during a break.  If I have time today, I'll get up from my desk and do some walking.

    Goal for next week?

As mentioned in my rambling above ... Incorporate the Dr. Oz Rapid Weight Loss Guidelines (2 week plan) into my Weight Watchers.  Try a few new recipies!

Also, DH moved our stationary bike to the guest room, and I need to find a good tv series that is availiable so I can watch it from the begining.  I've been looking for "Friends" but its not on Netflix streaming, it cost $20 a seasion to stream from Amazon (even with Prime), and only a few mid-series episodes are availabe OnDemand (xfinity) at a time!  So I might need to find a differant show that's available!

What keeps you motivated to continue working out/eating healthy?

I'm not sure ... I have a hard time staying motivated.  I think I'm motivated by the huge number I see on the scale, wanting to feel better about how look in my clothes or bathing suite, wanting my clothes to actually fit, being healthy for my family, etc.  We're also TTC and I think I'm motivated to loose weight before getting pregnant again.  Or more specifically, if we have to do fertility treatments again, I'd like to loose my previous IVF weight before I go through that roller coaster of emotions, hormones, and Ben & Jerrys!

  • @CourtandNate Great job losing 5 lbs!!!  Share your secrets  ;)

I thought someone here post something about the 21 day smoothie cleanse from this site:

I started researching different kinds of smoothies and how they effect you (energy vs, weight loss etc).  I'm going to start drinking at least 1 green smoothie a day.  I'm going to try this recipe first:
    -Kale
    -Spinach
    -Blueberry
    -Strawberry or Pineapple

  • @Toni79 I won't want to pay the money for a bite by bite meal plan!  I have a difficult time following plans with my crazy schedule.  I'm trying to incorporate a green smoothie and more veggies into our dinners.  I'm trying to eliminate drinking during the week :(  I also need to do whatever @CourtandNate is doing!!!

  • I had three great workout this week. Fell off Thursday and today because I needed to sleep! I ate great this weekend, very clean. Won't weigh myself for awhile, but already feel more like more normal self. Only had two glasses of wine all week, unlike my normal 2-3 a night! Going out for sushi and drinks tonight though:)

  • Weight loss wise- down 5 lbs from the first!

Workouts- went to the gym every morning this week. I start with running or biking for a half hour then move to weights- leg/ab day or arm/back day. Alternate.

Goals? Up weights. Run longer. Bike faster.

Motivation? Bikini season is right around the corner.

    Weight Loss?
I lost 2.2 lbs.  I think it was mostly water weight, but I'm counting it.

How many times did you work out and what did you do?
I worked out three times this week with my husband.  We did six sets each of push ups (girlie for me), situps, and squats.

    Goal for next week?
I would like to work out with my husband every weekday next week - possibly doing the videos from fitness blender on the days that we don't do the pushups/situps/squats.  I would also like to keep track of all my calories from Monday through Saturday.

What keeps you motivated to continue working out/eating healthy?
Having a workout buddy (dh) keeps me motivated.  As for eating healthy, I didn't do so well this week.  I didn't do badly, just not as well as I would have liked.  I'm not tracking my calories like I want to and didn't do any yoga.  I'm really bad about exercising on my own, so I'm trying something different.  I'll try to do better this next week.

Edited for clarity and redid goals.

  • @CourtandNate - My beginning runner tips are to do run/walk intervals and to find a running group! Runs fly by when you are chatting with friends. Also, I still do all my runs as 1 minute run/1 minute walk intervals.
  • So, I couldn't go walk on the treadmill tonight - DH wanted to go pick something up from a friend's house and he'd been home all day with DD so I told him to go ahead.  I still wanted to do something active, so I put in my 30 Day Shred DVD and did workout one!  It added about 2,000 steps to my FitBit.  Woo-hoo!

You people with your losing 2-5 pounds in one week are inspiring me!
