Climbs out of PNP but still sleeping in crib?

Last time we went to my sister's we tried to get him to sleep in the PNP and he wouldn't take a nap and climbed out, but he still sleeps in his crib fine at home and hasn't tried to climb out. We're planning on visiting family in March so don't know what to do? Does anyone have any travel toddler beds that they recommend or what would you do?
Thanks ladies :)

  • That toddler cot looks comfy.  My son won't sleep in the PnP since about 18 months.  We've tried an inflatable bed, it was a no go.  Now, if we travel, I just either co-sleep (ugh!) or use a bed rail (like in our family's cabin).

  • We have that same Regalo toddler bed that EA posted.  DD loved it.  We used it on a few vacations.  Unfortunately when we traveled recently with DS we couldn't find it so we used my SIL's pack n play for DS and he did fine.  However, he is now in his big boy bed (which is a whole other issue as he won't go to sleep at night and wakes up every night) so I would think when we travel next we'd need to get another one of those travel cots for him.

  • My DS since does the same thing as your son - sleeps fine in his crib, totally climbs out of the pnp! So frustrating! We use an inflatable twin mattress when we're out of town. The only problem is we have to lay in bed with him until he falls asleep which is a pain but it's do-able.
