The mess is spreading!

Addilene has been walking since 9.5 months. It took less than 2 weeks to go from me prompting her to walk to her cruising furniture and just taking off by herself. Although her walking is slower than her crawling she is a lot quieter when she walks (shes a mad floor slapper when she crawls so I always know where she is) so sometimes she is able to make it places, like the stairs before I realize it.. Time to get a baby gate. Anyways, yesterday she was in the music room playing with my husbands drumsticks and decided to just stand up without the assistance of any furniture or walls. The day before yesterday she was squatting down, picking stuff up and standing right back up and walking away. All of this to say that I am finding her toys all over the place now. It was pretty easy keeping the mess contained to one room when she was just crawling or needed both hands to stand up. Now she seems to be leaving a trail of toys wherever she goes. Pointless post, just proud of my girl for learning a new trick and not looking forward to having to track her toys down all around the house. Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Awww yay for your big girl!!!

On a similar note, I was just saying to DH that this is something kind of cool about the second (and third and fourth) kids.  With my first, I was very much in control, whether intentionally or not, of what he played with.  I got his toys out, I put his toys away.  With DS2, though, DS1's toys are all over the freaking place all of the time.  So it has been really cool to watch DS2 take an interest in and even appropriately play with things at a younger age than DS1 did, simply bc they are there.
This is so true.  And the other thing that is funny about the second kid is watching the first react when the second plays with their toys.  DD is constantly complaining that LO is taking her toys, and I'm like "Duh...that is why I tell you to pick them up ALL THE TIME!"
