Baby Names

Miricole

Whoa! My DD came home from school today and "there's a new girl in class, she sits next to me!".. I asked her name and she said "it's said like Miracle, but it's spelled like Miricole.. I saw it on her folder" ..I wouldn't even pronounce that the way she's intended.  Then DD says "and she has a little sister in Kindergarten named Serenity" (I don't know how this is spelled).. cheesy.

This is the first questionable name since she started school, and she's in 2nd grade.. so I guess it could be worse.

  • Yikes! That's pretty bad. I think Miracle and Serenity spelled right are too cheesy to begin with. Add weird spellings...

  • @fluffycakes - If I could click "love it" 100 times for the Philnomenon comment I would. :)

I just don't get these names. We know that all babies are miracles. I don't get names like Miracle, Serenity, Princess and even Faith, Hope, Joy, etc.

Whenever I meet a child name Destiny my first assumption is that they were not planned. That is probably really mean, but it feels like a name you give a child when you just get surprise pregnant and you aren't really happy about it.
  • All I could think of was Miralax and Colace....mixed together!
  • Initially I didn't want to put my kids actual names on my Facebook page, so instead I called them Destiny and Thunder. And my husbands name was Deisel. I thought it was funny, I can only imagine what people thought! I do know a Diamond Desiree. Ech!
