Is this product ridiculous or awesome?

So I heard about this a while back and gave it no thought since we were done with formula/breast-milk.  But now that I'm pregnant again, it's cropped up on my radar.

It's the Baby Brezza Formula Pro, basically a Keurig machine for baby bottles of formula.  It retails for about $150.

Now that we've all BTDT, what's your take on this?  Incredibly bourgie and ridiculous or awesome and convenient?

Because, I have to admit...with very little to purchase for this next baby and my bedroom/nursery being on a different floor from ANY running water, I've considered buying it for MOTN feedings....depending on how BFing goes.

  • I want to say completely ridiculous....but I EBFed, so maybe it's is indeed fabulous?...However, is formula really that hard to mix up? Not asking in a snotty way, just in an I wonder way.
Lol, no.  What we did was leave a pre-measured bottle on the fridge for MOTN feedings, and then whoever was tasked with waking up with LO that night would just come downstairs and warm up the tap water and add the appropriate amount of water, and voila!  Done.

If I ever did buy something like this, I would still admit it's ridiculous.  But I hate sleeping on a floor without a bathroom, and walking down a flight of stairs to do even this simple task wakes me up to the point where I have a hard time getting back to sleep.  So, I can see the merit, I guess.

I will say that there were nights when I would have loved to have this already to go in the baby's room so I didn't have to go to the kitchen, I was that tired, so I am going to say yes to be ridiculous but I can see how the convince might when out.  Once I could no longer breast feed we just pre-filled the bottles with room temp water, that's how wesley would take it and then I would add the formula that was pre measured in a formula container and shake the bottle.  I had one of these....

  • Our tap water is pretty good in our area, but I could also see how this might be extra handy for people that have to warm distilled water on a stove or whatever. But maybe that's what bottle warmers are for?

No matter how you slice it, this is totally a luxury item. But sleep-deprivation is a crazy and nasty beast.

  • I'm going with both! I would love to have it but I would feel stupid payin so much for it.

  • I'm going to say ridiculous… but mostly because I'm ticked that all the normal coffee makers at work have been replaced by Keurigs which, IMO, make terrible coffee that tastes like plastic.  And this reminds me of all those Keurigs, and I'd wonder if the formula tasted like plastic.  I'm all about simple and we have way too many appliances already.  To each her own!
  • Fabulously ridiculous. If a crazy rich friend bought it for me, I would laugh...then use it till it wore out! But I wouldn't buy it myself.

  • I've never made formula before but if this really helped you out, esp for the MOTN feedings, then why not? Sounds great to me!

I am kind of with you on the Keurig thing...they do have their place, though -- they are excellent for places like where my husband works where everyone is Mormon and there isn't a single coffee maker in sight.  BUT, when he wanted to get one at home, I thought he was crazy.  I won't quibble about the taste, but at best in a home where everyone drinks coffee, they are wasteful.  Plus, there's just something about a pot of coffee...

  • I own a keurig even though I'm completely capable of using a coffee maker... Lol

I nursed and then EPed but with not needing to buy other things, I'd probably splurge!

  • I think it's pretty genius and if you have the cash why not?
  • I used to prefill the bottles with water. I had the tommee tippee ones and they had little containers that fit into the bottles for the formula.

This is pretty great though! I'd never put out the money for it but wouldn't be mad if showed up at my house for the next baby!

  • In case it matters my DH said totally worth it lol. Once we swithced to FF and he had to start helping with MOTN feedings he said he would have loved to have it!

  • If the product got good reviews and someone gifted it to me, I'd try it. :)

  • We never did warm bottles for DS, so for us this would be a waste of space.  And to have to go downstairs to make a bottle seems like a waste of time, but I guess since it already has water, you could put it in the baby's room.

Maybe it can accedentially find its way on a baby registry and someone will buy it for you.  Just putting it out there!
