Decrease in stim dose

I have done 4 days of stims...tonight will be 5.  Went in this morning for a check and got the message to lower my dose and come back tomorrow.  For some reason the results aren't in the system so I don't know the specifics (or my E2 at all) but I did have some follies this morning that were in the 10-11 range.  Last time at this point they were all less than 9.  I always hear people getting an increase...but not a decrease.  Does this mean I am moving too fast?  I am high risk for OHSS based on having had it before so not sure if that is part of the reason for the decrease.  Anyone have their stims lowered in the past?

ETA: Went from 100 to 75 for Follistim and 150 to 75 for Menopur

A decrease is usually good news, as it means you're responding well and they want to slow you down. I think this is definitely due to concern about OHSS. Some women, myself included, are very sensitive to these meds, and you may be one of them.

    Good luck, and don't worry!

  • Thanks @pblge I am worried about the OHSS....hopefully this decrease will get that under control.  I just wasn't sure if moving too fast had any other concerns.

I'm glad you asked this question. I was on 225 of Gonal F to start. On day 3 went in for ultrasound and had about 25 small follicles and four that were slightly larger (8-10mm). They reduced my Gonal F to 150. I didn't ask why but assumed it was a good thing.
