Stool Softeners

I'm 9 days pp and have been taking the softeners. I've already had my first PPpoopy and a few more (Sorry TMI) I have no clue of the degree of my episiotomy but can barely feel the stitches anymore. I'm starting to feel like the stool softeners are doing more harm than good... I have bubble guts all the time. That on top of my uterus contracting isn't pleasant.

How long did you take the stool softeners for PP?

Little Cecelia is marathon feeding so I may not be back to respond for a while. Thanks!

    I took them for maybe a week. I'm 3 weeks PP now and am regular and the go doesn't hurt. They caused no issues for me.

    I too am marathon feeding. She has been attached since 9am. And has not slept. And she didn't go to sleep until 3:30a last night...woke at 7:45. Today blows.

    cut back first, if possible, and when you quit make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water.  Nursing can make your stools big and hard if you aren't drinking plenty of water.
