I think cosmetic surgery is ridiculous. If there is a medical reason you need it then I think that is ok. But to get it b/c you are an A cup and want to be a D cup is just stupid and risky.
I think people should be required to re-take the road test every xx amount of years in order to renew their license... 10 years, maybe? 5 is great, but that's probably pushing it. I feel people forget the basics of the road and driving. I think even the written test repeated would be great. Maybe then people will remember how the frick to drive.

I am not against plastic surgery simply because some people try don't feel confident with how they look. If they have money to do it, why not.
Personally, I don't think I could ever do it, just because I'd be scared to go under the knife.
I can see your point I just feel like the risks are not worth it. It's too bad people can't feel comfortable in their own skin. I feel like this is a society influenced problem.

Oh it's definitely society induced. And it can start very young. The other day I brought my DD to school and this conversation went on in the playground (with maybe 4th graders, if I had to guess? So around 9/10 year olds).. "your nose is silly, it looks BIG!" and then "hahahaha her nose is huge!" .. what? My heart sunk for the poor girl. And you wonder if THAT'S the girl who will get a nose job when she's older.
I do believe in doing things to make you happy, because I think self confidence is extremely important. But, I'm not very "for" elective surgery either. My boobs need a lift, I lost 50 pounds this past year. But I won't do it. So I'll accept what I have.
I also dislike Pink <-- the singer. I think she is terribly ugly and a little to "hard core" for my liking. That said I still like a few of her songs. I'm a hypocrite!
An ice cream cake from Coldstone is my standard birthday cake. And they make different sizes, so when I can't decide on a flavor, I can just get two small ones.

I pretty much agree. The only surgery I would every consider but I don't think it's considered cosmetic is a boob reduction. I think my back would hurt a whole lot less.
The other night on Dateline they were talking about these kids getting cosmetic surgery because they were bullied. I think that's nuts. If they want to do that when they're an adult, that's fine, but 15-16? No way!
This to me is a medical reason. Your in physical pain. Anything to lessen that physical pain should be encouraged!

Ordering a cheeseburger with large fries and diet coke makes me laugh every time. If you're watching what you're eating you should probably get smaller portions since diet has probably as much sugar as a regular drink.
YOU DON'T KNOW MY LYFE!! Maybe i just like diet coke OKAY?!!
My UO: I'd love to see America go to full socialized medicine like they have in Canada, England, Germany, etc.
Socialized medicine?
I may have used the wrong term for that since my brain's not functioning properly today lol. I'm glad for some provisions in the new healthcare law, like making it affordable for everyone, but I'd be happier with a system like Canada has in place.
I want to preface by saying all parents should parent how they choose (as long as its not abusive) but I honestly see CIO as selfish on the parents part.
For extended periods of time yes. For 5-10 mins no. DH runs in DS's room at any little peep. I give him about 5-10mins if he is still whining I will go in. I just want him to self soothe.
Also i think this has a lot to do with the age of the child.
@JackoftheBox I'm talking the people who leave them to cry for way longer than that. Especially extinction CIO, or closing the door at 7 and not going back in til 7 the next morning. That shit breaks my heart.

I think that plastic surgery is some instances is ridiculous, like a 60 year old woman getting a face lift to look young again. Aging is a part of life, and you have to come to accept that.
But in other situations, some people's self-confidence is so blown over a bad feature. I am all for a little plastic surgery if that helps boost someone to a better feeling of self worth. I remember HATING my ears growing up. They are a little big, but nothing too distracting. That feeling of embarassment can be quite consuming, and I can only imagine what its like for someone with a really extreme feature.

So much this, for all ages, but would be a great benefit as people age. An acquaintances son was hit a few months ago by a 90 year old man who accidentally hit the gas pedal while trying to back out of a parking spot. He could barely walk, shuffled WITH a walker, and was driving a giant SUV.
One brother only had minor injuries, but the others pelvis was entirely crushed. It was touch and go for a few days, but months later he is recovering. Doctors are still unsure though of the long term implications. Worst part, the 90 year old is a lawyer with a whole lawyering family. Not only was he not charged, but he has assets to fight any type of lawsuit. So fracking sad.

Cold Stone ice cream cake is gross. It's like regular cake with ice cream that's frozen. Who wants to eat cold cake? No.
