So our dog's name is Shamrock and dd calls her "sha". She also quite frequently tells her to "sit". Well lately dd has been combining the words and goes around yelling "shit". It is clear as day and she also says it while we are out. Oh the things I am gonna tell this kid when she is older...
Whoever came up with the whole "no tv before 2" thing never endured a polar vortex with their child (children).
But seriously, I let Sam play with my iPhone at least once a day for 15-20 min. Usually while I get dinner ready or if he gets fussy in a checkout lane. And we watch the Today show in the morning (more like I watch, have coffee, and he plays). Is that so bad? I feel like I'm breaking some big child development rule.

DD will stop what she's doing and go sit in front of the TV whenever Judge Judy is on..I have no idea what it is about that woman that she finds so fascinating, but it's nice that it happens to come on about the same time as we're trying to make dinner...so if you're breaking the rules, we're right there with ya.
My FFFC: I have been known to let DD sleep in her clothes from the day if she doesn't wake up with her last diaper change. If she doesn't have a late nap then she gets super cranky and will not let you put her down- she literally has to play until she runs out of energy, and then she'll just pass out. If you wake her up, you spend another 15-20 mins trying to get her back to sleep, so if it's one of those nights, I will just leave her in her clothes and put her in the crib.
Morgan loves Bubble Guppies, every day at 10am it's on TV and she knows it! The weekends are killers because it's not on so we had to record them so she can watch it on the weekends also.
We don't have a true dining room so we eat in the living room, I don't let Morgan watch TV while she eats but I have it on. She's started to fight eating so I turn her around so she can watch and while she's distracted I feed her.
Guilty of TV here too. We always have it on for background noise but while DS is up its mostly the news or Discovery channel. He loves watching the news in the morning, snuggled in bed with Daddy & his breakfast bottle while I get everyone ready. If I'm home during the day and I turn on something really awful (like Real Housewives, etc.) DS always gets upset when he hears the women's voices. Shows like AxMen, Gold Rush, etc. he'll stop & point at the TV if they start yelling but otherwise, he doesn't really care. Cartoons he completely ignores.
We also watch TV in our household and I think that it's fine- and sometime we even watch TV while we eat dinner- including the baby!
For my FFFC- I am taking my 1 year old and my 5 year old to get their ears pierced tomorrow. Some people are very opinionated on this one, but I think it's cute.
I like to have the TV on when I'm playing with him in the living room and we also have been turning on Baby Einstein and nursery rhymes we found on youtube. I know they don't make him smarter, but they really fascinate him and sometimes I just need to get stuff done without him clinging to my pant legs or screaming at the kitchen gate because I dared to lock him out! I feel a bit guilty about it, but I interact with him loads and that's the main risk, developmentally.
