Baby shower gifts

My baby shower is this Saturday and I have a question about gifts.

I've gotten a few gifts delivered to my house off of my registry. Some are wrapped and some aren't. Should I bring these gifts to the shower? I vaguely remember reading this somewhere, but it's possible I just made it up :)

It just seems pointless to carry them/have someone bring them to the shower and then bring it back to my house. However, if it's customary then I'll do it.

TIA!!

  • This happened to me. I thanked the person at the shower.
  • I wouldn't bring them. I'd make sure to mention the gifts while you're opening other gifts and thank whoever got the gift if they're there but I wouldn't expect someone to bring a gift to a shower that I had delivered to their house. It'll end up being more work for you!

  • Like PP have mentioned, I don't think it is necessary to bring the gifts already sent to you to the shower. I would definitely tell the gift giver you received the gift and thank them. They probably had them sent to you out of convenience, so why lug them to the shower and back home again.

I have been receiving items at home also and just writing thank you notes as I got them. And I did have one person at the shower who sent me something so I just thanked her in person again.
  • Nah, not neccessary to bring them with you.  If they sent them to your house, they are probably not expecting you to bring them to the shower to open.  I would just thank them at the shower along with a formal thank you card with the rest of the gifts.
