Well, not really, but that was a funny discussion title so I couldn't resist. But it is cool, talks about how women have always struggled, and there was never a "golden age" of BFing.
As someone who cried for 3 days after I gave up breastfeeding, I appreciate this article.
I needed to keep telling myself that its not my fault that my baby's appetite outpaced my breasts. Women need to know that they did not fail because they couldn't BF. There are so many more important aspects to motherhood to focus on.
Interesting. I definitely struggled in the beginning- a preemie, NICU stay, tongue tie…and today, though I love nursing, I struggle with pumping enough for A's bottles and think that I may have low supply issues. I have often wondered what I would have done 100 or 1000 years ago. It's interesting to know that these challenges are not a "new thing. Thanks for sharing.
