I haven't had my computer near me since baby Landon was born and I wanted to include pictures. So here is our quick birth story!
We were team green and the baby was frank breech pretty much the entire pregnancy so we had a c-section scheduled for January 20th, two days before his due date. I had been trying acupuncture and the chiropractor a couple weeks leading up to his birth trying to get him to turn. But Landon had his own plan! The early morning of December 28th I went to the bathroom and when I got back into bed at 3am I felt a small gush of water which I thought was pee because I've heard at the end that could happen. I changed my underwear at that time and one more time during the night, still thinking pee. The next morning my husband got up at 7:30am to play golf, I told him I think my water was slowly starting to leak… I had been googling for a while prior and finally came to the realization that may be happening. I told him to go play golf because I read water can slowly leak for days and I still needed to wash the baby's clothes and pack a hospital bag since I was completely not ready! We had our maternity shoot scheduled for that day! I had my hair and nails all done the day prior. I started cleaning and around 8:30 my mom made me call the doctor but it was Saturday so I felt bad. The doctor said because the baby is breech I need to go in. So I called Tim (my husband) and said finish the rest of the game but we do have to go to the hospital… I was in complete denial!! I didn't want to be crying wolf every time there was some kind of water in my underwear! Of course Tim didn't listen and came right home. I made him wait until a few baby outfits were dried and we went to L&D. The nurse right away knew my water broke and called the doctor. We got to the hospital around 10:30 and Landon was born at 2:04! The doctor arrived and I felt kind of validated that I bothered him on Saturday and he was actually going to deliver our baby. The first thing he said was what took me so long to get to the hospital! I ate breakfast at 8am and thought I wouldn't have surgery till evening so Tim asked what time we were going and the nurse said they were just waiting to prep the OR! It got real then! The surgery went perfect. I was incredibly calm, almost out of body calm. The got Landon out and Tim told me it was a boy! I went to recovery with my mom, Tim went with Landon and we were reunited about 3 hours later. It really wasn't until the next day I felt that moment of pure joy and love. And I haven't stopped staring at him ever since! He weighed 4.15 at birth, only 4.6 when we left the hospital!!! As of Monday he was already 5.6! He's nursing wonderfully and sleeping in between like a log. We are on day 12 of recovery and I feel great. The first couple days were painful but tolerable.
