RUDE "friends" anyone else need a vent?

Ugh ! So this girl I used to play soccer with wanted to come over she had a gift for LO. I haven't seen her or really talked to her in about a year .... And then I remembered why.

So everything starts out good and then she asked how much weight I gained (rude but whatever) I said I gained XX amount. She goes "wow that's a lot !! I can really see it in your face, arms and legs! Isn't it funny how you've always been really into working out and now you are fat!"

I thought DF was going to TP her for me. Um #1 I'm right on track with my weight gain. #2 are you freaking kidding me! What is it with people. DF is 6'4 and 250lbs she is 5'7 and is 15 lbs less than him. I'm gaining weight because I'm making a little human wtf is your excuse !!!

Note : yes I am a workout freak but it's what I love to do. I NEVER put anyone down or judge them on their size. I don't understand why some people think it's ok to call someone else fat ( or anything along those lines) but I really wanted to let her have it ! Ugh

Vent over .... Anything you ladies need to vent about?

  • @njb750 right! DF said it seemed like she came over to just make me feel bad about me gaining weight.

I did get 3 cute outfits out of it tho!

I know I did right there. I'm upset that she is judging me and poking fun at me for gaining weight, while she has no room to talk herself. Before this post I never judged her or said one word to her about weight. Im 5 feet tall on a good day so I get I look like a Rollie pollie (sp?) right now. I am just pissed that someone who is out of shape would have the audacity to talk shit to a pregnant woman for weight gain.

Her weight shouldn't factor into it at all.

Her comment is offensive no matter her weight or fitness level.

Your right, it just really rubbed me the wrong way.

Sorry you have to be the one I use this on especially since you're already mad, but I've been dying to use it since I saw it!

And I'd avoid this "friend" from now on. So rude and inconsiderate.

Hahaha. I can't believe I did that *face palm*
  • Yeah your "friend" sounds like an asshole.

  • My "friend" commented on a bump pic I posted on fb and said.. "oh wow.. you were doing so well with weight loss with your band.. cute bump though"

I believe I got back hand commented I couldnt even respond. . Some ppl just have no filter and are plain assholes.

Makes it hard to have a witty comeback when your in utter disbelief that they "went there"

OMG wow! People these days I swear.
  • People are so incredibly rude and inconsiderate. I don't know why I'm still surprised at the rampant inability for people to filter themselves.
@njb750 pirate hooker is my new favorite! Hilarious!

  • I had a friend who is due same time as me ask about weight gain and i never minding talking to her about it throughtout the pregnancy. This last time though when we discussed it her reply was just "WOW". I tried to just let it go. My weight is higher than hers but im also 7 inches taller and I don't think she was taking that into account. I just replied we are both doing very well staying right on track and then changed the topic.

Yuck. I hate people who need to know weight and who comment on it. I had the following conversation with Mother in Law this Christmas in front of the entire family:

MIL: you look good. How much weight have you gained?

Me: I'm right on track. The doctor said I've gained within the acceptable range and I am having a healthy pregnancy

MIL: Well, how much is that?

Me: Well, they say that a woman should gain between 20 and 35 pounds

MIL: Well, how much of that have you gained? Your pregnancy isn't even over!

Me: I'm at the lower end and I only have a few weeks to go.

I mean, seriously. Why does she need to know a number. So totally inappropriate. Anyway, I'm not trying to thread jack. Just trying to let you know that I totally relate

  • Your "friend" sounds like a jerk...and like my mother.

Vent away girl! But I hear you, as long as my Dr is good with my weight gain so am I.

    @rosebud1308

That just made me lol ... Sorry about your mom being like that ! Mine doesn't understand why I'm so tired " I never missed a beat when I was pregnant with you ". Insert eye roll.
  • ^^ thought I already explained myself.
