Straw cup help

We have this Nuby insulated straw cup for DS, and it has been working fine https://www.amazon.com/Nuby-Insulated-Spill-Straw-Colors/dp/B000BPPPL8

UNTIL

DS learned to flip it upside down, then JAM the straw onto the hardwood floors. Water drips out when he does this, so I've got water puddles all over the living room. He obviously finds it entertaining but I don't share his views. I told him ,'No, we don't do that," but that achieves nothing. The only way to get him to stop is to take the cup away from him.

But that defeats my goal of leaving the cup out for him where he can reach - so he can drink water whenever he is thirsty.

Now I need a recommendation for a different kind of straw cup. Does anyone have one that won't leak water out when turned upside down or can stand this kind of abuse by my DS? I guess a drop or 2 is okay, as long as it doesn't make a puddle of water.

We also use the same ones that @LuckySquare posted and there is only a little bit of leaks if there is already liquid in the straw but Wesley smashes them into the ground all the time and I don't have any puddles.

Although sometimes I feel like I have trouble opening the flip top cap after I shut it! Same issue @LuckySquare and @StefanieM522? I thought maybe the first cup was defective but noticed it with all of them. User error?

@stephcarter yes I could not get the top to flip open when it was closed, so I just assemble the cups and leave the straw out until after I put the liquid in it and then close it if needed. I figured user error was the reason I couldn't get them to flip up, so glad to know that I am not the only one. We hardly ever flip the sippy closed unless I am putting the cup in the diaper bag so it's not an issue for us.

Thanks everyone! I have definitely seen other kiddos using the 2 munchkins one you guys posted (including the dollar bin one at Target). I'll get one of those for DS.

@mbm1983 - now that I don't let DS turn the bottle upside down to drip water out, he instead takes big gulps of water, then deliberately spits it all out, so that he can play with water on the floor. I'm thinking of getting him a sand and water table once the weather gets warm!

There is a valve to keep stuff from spilling out of the straw, but it requires a lot of suction and she's lazy.

I bought her a Zoli sippy cup and love it, but the straw is so narrow that I don't know how to clean it properly so it's a water-only cup in our home. However the straw has a weighted ball at the bottom so it always sits at the bottom of the cup. It's awesome.
