This is my first pregnancy, I'm about 8 weeks pregnant, and I have this awful nausea which lasts all day. I have read several other posts and articles with good suggestions, but so far not much is helping. I have noticed that it subsides for a little while (maybe 15 minutes) if I eat, but in order to head off the sick feeling I have to eat literally every 20-30 minutes.
I'm very small to begin with and my stomach has never been able to eat a lot. I also have a pretty high metabolism so I'm not sure if maybe whatever I'm eating is just getting burned off too quickly, but eating so often is making me not feel well on top of the all day sickness.
I have tried ginger supplements, B6 vitamins, dry toast, saltines, smoothies, fruit, yogurt, sucking on hard candy, OTC nausea meds, everything I have heard may work. My first appointment with my doctor isn't for another week, so I don't know if I should call them or not. I just know I can't stay this sick. I get lightheaded when I walk around, nauseous when I sit up... Please help!
Re: 8 weeks, constant nausea: please help!
At your doctor appt. if it's still really bad, ask for zofran
What kind of hard candy have you tried? I found that sour candy worked the best, but was only truly effective on milder days. War Heads, particularly lemon flavored, were the most helpful.
Also ditto to asking your doctor about Zofran should you feel like you need it.
