New to SIF, don't know what to expect

Hi girls. I'm new to this board (not the bump in general tho). DD is 15mo and we have been ttc #2 for 7months. Just got another BFN this morning. For the previous 6 months I temped and used OPK's...my bbt was erratic but FF detected I usually O on cd 15. A couple months I o'd late, but now I'm wondering if I o at all. This past month I took a break from charting and we just BD'd every other day....still no success. I made an ob appt for Jan 22nd (AF is due around Jan 13th). I'm just wondering what to expect at the 1st dr appt. Any input would help. DD was conceived easily, so I'm new to all this. TIA

Hello. Are you AMA? I do not have experience with this but I believe there are few girls on the board that can relate.

If your Dr is worth their salt, you can expect a lot of testing.

AMA? Sorry, I haven't been active on this site for a while so I'm a little rusty on the terms....also just wondering how long you need to be ttc for them to do testing/lab work.

Advanced Maternal Age

Most Drs will consider testing at 6m if you are AMA (over 36)

The textbook definition of IF is 1 year, and Drs will reluctantly beginning testing at this point for people under 36, the actual clinical guideline is 2 years.

oh, no. I'm 31 (32 in May). So they may not do testing at all if we've only been trying for 7 months then.

I was trying to be so nice to you assuming you are not an idiot because you said you have been trying for SEVEN effing months, so I am figuring you are over 40 and in a mad rush to get pregnant. You are effing impatient, and so incredibly rude to come to an ACTUAL infertility board to whine about it.

Then you have the audacity to whine about snark?? You are either on drugs, and beyond all hope stupid. Either way, I wish you the best of luck in your recovery, and recommend you put TTC on hold until you resolve these issues.

7 months is well with in the normal timeframe to conceive. Most of us here have been DX'd with SIF. You haven't been DX'd with SIF so I would take Castillo's advice. Not snark just truth.

I agree, take Castillo's advice. Most of us have been trying for over a year, many, like myself, for over 2 years. So it's hard to not react when someone we don't know is upset about trying for 7 months. If you don't have any obvious signs of issues - i.e. consistent spotting, pain, ungodly long cycles, etc then I'd guess, and hope, that you're fine. I can't remember off the top of my head, but the chance of a healthy couple conceiving each month is only like 15-25%? You'll find better support on TTGP. Good luck.

1st off, I never said I was dx with SIF, and I never said I am in a "mad rush" to get pregnant. I actually said I'm completely new to this all together. I was simply asking for an idea of what to expect. I'm very sorry you and all the other girls on this board have had such issues GP. I was trying to be proactive and find out what I can do or what to expect. I was on the ttgp board with my 1st, but thought this board would give me more of an idea of what to expect in the future, I apologize if I posted in the wrong place. I'm sure we are all impatient to a point, but I never whined about it. But your "wtf" reply WAS snarky. Last thing I want to hear about when I come here is about some impatient chick who cant make up her mind how long she has been TTC. Sounds liike you don't know your ass from your elbow.

Also maybe you should get diagnosed before you try to clump in with a group of ladies who are actually struggling. When you hit 12 months no success, seek out an RE. There's your advice, in the mean time keep charting, using opk's and read and re-read TCOYF.

Are you joking? You just said you have an appointment scheduled with your OB to whine about not being pregnant instantly, and you do not consider this a mad rush? You also said you've been trying for 3 months on one board, and 7 months on this board, which suggests to me that you are in fact stupid, or a troll making up stories for attention which still makes you stupid since you can't keep your own bullshit straight.
