I haven't said much about this, but things are getting to the point that I need to reach out for good thoughts and prayers.
DH had labs done and his liver enzymes came back three times higher than they should be. There's also blood in his urine. The doctor wants him back next week to rerun the labs and then he will order more specific tests to find out what's going on. I'm nervous but trying to stay positive and calm. DH refuses to worry until we get the results.
Also, my brother has some kind of weird infection caused by fungus/mold. This is relatively new info to me, so I don't know a lot of details. Since he got back from Iraq, he's been different. I chalked it up to PTSD. He's also had weird skin lesions. Turns out that these things in addition to some others indicate he has this disease. It messes with his brain and affects his thinking. The things that come out of his lesions are actually tumors. The condition has three stages. 1st stage requires a detox of sorts, 2nd stage requires hospitalization, third stage is fatal. We aren't sure what stage he's in. He has an appointment tomorrow to find out more and talk treatment.
On top of that, he and his wife are separating. They hope to work things out once his thinking returns to normal, but they both have major issues, so I'm not sure they will. I'm worried because my SIL has been maneuvering, manipulating, and basically lying about my brother to make herself look like the better parent. I don't think either one of them is a fit parent right now to be honest (she's threatened suicide recently as well as came out of their bedroom with a gun when it was just her and my brother at home). I'm scared that if they divorce, and SIL gets custody, we will lose contact with my nephew or worse.
There's more but this is already a novel. Sorry for the length, I'm just nervous and worried for my loved ones.
Re: Rough patch (long)
