In the morning it is just me and DS. I let him run around in his diaper, watch curious george, and have fruit pouches for breakfast. We also jam out in the car on the way to daycare. DH would not approve of these choices
We bought DD a Nabi Jr. tablet for her birthday. At 2 she's a little young for it but the driving factor behind buying it was so we could put her favorite tv shows on it and bring it with us when we go out to eat. She'll sit calmly through an entire meal at a restaurant if she has her Bubble Guppies to watch.
DH gets up for work at 4. DS wakes at 7. But then after he comes into our room, I let him play on my phone and/or watch tv for like an hour so I can sleep longer. I love sleep.
And then DH is all, "Why don't you want to go to bed at 9:30 with me?" Sorry dude.
We have what we call a "quiet box" for ds in restaurants. It has books, cars, and small toys. We have been know to YouTube Thomas episodes on our phone for the sanity of ourselves and those around us. My confession is that whenever dh is out, I never follow the night time routine we both worked to create. I skip bath, read extra stories, and snuggle.

All this week I have let DD play on the iPad before she does her homework. We have never done this, but we're having a hard time getting back into the school groove after vacation. Blah.

In our house, this sounds more like morning with daddy! In all fairness, the only difference if it were me is that I'm pretty anal about getting him dressed for the day so he'd have clothes on. Daddy would keep in pajamas 24/7 if I wasn't around.
My serious confession is that I've become a lot more lax with television. He really likes to watch it so I make sure we're watching educational shows and we talk about them as we watch and talk about what we saw after so at least it's interactive. His vocabulary is amazing for a 22 month old and I think a lot of it has to do with the dialogue that we have when we watch tv and the fact that he can tie in what he's learned when we read books (and vice versa). But, in the back of my mind though, all I can think it "He's watching too much tv. He's watching too much tv. He's watching too much tv." He's an otherwise active kid and enjoys other things as well but it's definitely one of those mommy guilt giving things.
Way too much screen time here too, both tv and the iPad. He's a very active watcher at least. He jumps around at exciting parts and is always running into the kitchen to tell me what just happened. He actually dances to the dance party videos.
We only have streaming and DVDs so at least he's never seen a commercial.
We have been cutting back on the pouches as we find other finger food he's just as happy with. Mostly to save money. But I do have a SAHM acquaintance who gets super huffy about both those and screen time.
