Anyone have "Indoor fun" ideas

My LO wants outside sooo badly but it was a high of like 15* yesterday! He gets so bored being in the house all the time and seeing the same four walls, like his mom!

What are ways you keep your little one entertained? I found "magic" paint and paper and let him mess that all around. It's not eatable so I had to watch him but he did well. I'm hoping to make eatable paint and let him enjoy that.  Sometimes I let him use pudding and just let him eat and play lol.

I read and play with his toys with him, or give him a pan while I'm doing dishes etc,.. But those things get old!  Any ideas?

  • K loves to read. She is also a big fan of "talking" with her stuffed animals; I voice the animals. We also turn on some music and dance. She plays with her music toys a lot.

  • It's -8 here today. We have plans to go the library, walk around our tiny 5 store
mall and get a few groceries this morning. Otherwise we read, play woth magnets on the fridge, play in the tub, and play with toys.

@uconnhuskie007 yes we've done finger painting but it lasted about two mins..

I did think about bringing in some snow. Last time he touched it outside he didn't like it. Might give it a try again.

He plays with his toys all the time and we read - he usually gets up and plays about half way through a book with any length to it, but I finish reading it normally

He climbs EVERYTHING so DH and I are making him a small " fort " or whatever in his toy room. Something he can climb on and be allowed to. Just one level but tall enough platform he can climb onto it, with some toys and foam floor or carpeted later. Right now all we have done is the base and he loves it. It's where he can look outside too. He really enjoys being able to stare out the window... And lick it. :)

  • we've  been going to the library for story time, its 30 min but gets us out and about.  she likes books and nesting toys too
  • We were stuck in the house for the past three days and DD was getting stir crazy too!  She's really into reading like crazy.  She's also starting to like pretend kitchen things.  Her farm set is popular too.  MIL has taken her to the library, but I haven't gotten around to that yet.  I'm too worried that she's be crazy.

  • D loves anything new. If I find something that he has not played with before he will be entertained for hours.  The other day I took the battery out of the house phone and he played with that all day.

We also make a huge pile of his stuffed animals or pillows and hide electronic toys in the pile like his vtech cars that talk, or this mooing cow bowling ball and play hide and seek.

Sensory bottles are a hit too. Easy to make on your own. Put different things in for different sounds. Rice in one, oats, plastic beads and hot glue the top on. D prefers the pure life water bottles because they are crinkly.

Also try productive parenting . com. They will send you emails on different things to do with your child. I have it set up for only 3 days a week, but it allows you to set your child's age so it sends you relevant stuff.

  • We have been inside a lot because of DH recovering. We play with everything. He loves to push boxes around, read, dance, and look at pictures of himself. (: we go for a few walks a day with DH and one super long walk just us. That's more for me than for him. He's crazy about his basketball hoop right now too. He also loves for me to build up his Legos so he can tear them down.

I'm looking forward to being able to do crafts when he's a lil older.

Today we went out to town and bought some new books, then a box from SIL came in and had Cody the cub for him in it. So cute. He loves it.

One thing he loves is to unpack bags. Today I left a bag in the floor to long-  like five mins haha (it was his books) and he was throwing them out left n right. Does the same with his diaper bag. :)

I'd love a daily walk but way tooo cold. Plus he's getting over an ear infection, boooo!

Lately he's loving a vetch walking toy he got, it's got a barn door that when u open it it says peekaboo! When I jump and act shocked he cracks up and does it a million more times. <3
