Britax Boulevard- install rear-facing in center or on side?

Where do you have your Boulevard/Marathon installed? In the rear center seat still like the infant seat or behind the passenger seat to brace the seat?

Thanks!

  • If you can do it with the way your seats are arranged in the car, the safest place for any car seat is in the middle of the backseat.

  • Ours is center. I am not sure it would fit behind a seat in my car without putting the seat all the way up.?

  • middle is always safest.
  • Middle is the safest but in our case, our car cannot take a carseat in the middle so we put it behind the passenger side

Ditto for us.  For some reason, some idiot decided to make our middle seat 'rounded' so the car seat doesn't sit completely on the seat :(  So it's on the passenger side. grrr

  • In my car, we have it on the passenger side.  But the truth is, that so many factors come in to play when installing a seat that you should really have it professionally installed.

I am confused when you say have it on the passenger side to "brace" the seat.  If the carseat is installed on the passenger side, the tether should be used to brace the seat, the passenger seat in front of it should not be touching the carseat at all.

  • Our Marathon is installed rear-facing in the middle seat. However, it is tethered to the front passenger seat.
