I realize most of us are kind of past buying these but ours has been on the fritz as of late so I'm looking to possibly replace it. I wasn't sure about a video monitor but with the sale on Kohls right now I can get a very expensive one for fairly cheap. I'm not concerned about the video but figured it I can get one for a similar price to a regular monitor why not. Especially since we plan on having another sometime soon. So recommend your monitor. If you can share a clicky that's great too, especially through Kohls. Thanks!
I didn't get a video monitor until James was almost 2. I wanted it for when he was out of his crib so I could see what he was doing. Totally worth it for a toddler.
I have 2 inexpensive ones now (I paid $50 each). A Lorex in James' room that I like and a Motorolla in Leo's room that I don't like as much.
I love our dropcam. It is not necessarily marketed as a baby monitor so it isn't sold in most stores. I just bought a second camera because they were on an uber sale during the holidays and I wanted to watch 2.0 when and if it happens.
I like our dropcam because I can watch from an app on my phone. Let's me spy when we are out of the house and someone else is putting L to bed.

We have a Motorola video monitor. This is similar to ours (@ kohls) A little fancier in that I think it has room temperature on it.
In case the link doesn't work - it's the Motorola remote video monitor. It pans, zooms and allows you to talk back. All if those things have been wonderful for 2-4yrs old. We still keep it in DS1's room so we can see if he is out of bed and tell him to get back to bed.

I've been really happy with it so far.
The only thing I don't like is the range isn't very long - we go into the backyard frequently, and I use our Angelcare audio-only monitor for that.
