  • I'm feeling pretty good. 2nd tri is treating me pretty well except for the heartburn. Ohhhh, the heartburn!
We found out that it's another girl, so we won't need to buy any of the big ticket items, woohoo! Now we just have to come up with another girl name.

I seriously think picking a second name of the same sex is soooooo hard.  With D we had his name picked by around 30 weeks.

With G we were still disagreeing on names at 36 weeks.  We took a road trip right around then.  So I literally went through every boy name in the 10,000 baby names book and wrote down every name I didn't hate.  That was around 40 names.  The MH went through the list (without me around) and crossed off everything he hated.  That left us with 4 names.  4.  We eliminated one because it didn't sound right with our chosen middle name.  Then we picked our fav of the top three in the hospital when G was born.

  • I am finally just about over all-day-sickness, but the headaches are getting brutal. I was trying really hard not to take Tylenol, but yesterday just about broke me. I finally feel better today and am trying to drink a lot of water to stave of dehydration headaches. My 12 week appt is Monday, and I have Bunco right after. I'm kind of wishing I had changed the appt in case I get bad news. (I am constantly paranoid about that right now.)

As for names, it was like pulling teeth last time to get DH to think about names, much less come up with any serious ideas. This time, he will be watching football and randomly say, "What do you think about the name ___?" They're always boy names, too. It's like he thinks he can influence the sex by not even considering girl names.

  • We found out it's a girl! I feel like there hasn't been a check in since then? So we only need a couple of big things, and we're set! Clothes should even be for the right season. :)

Names are seriously the worst! And DH is now claiming that he let me name DD, even though it was a name on both of our lists, and he said he just did that go give in because he was tired of arguing about it, so he should get to pick this one. Nope! Not going to happen. For the most part, the few names I like he hates, and he only likes names that I hate. I've gone through the top 1,000 names of last year, and still only had a handful on my list.

  • Can I add that my new BMB just freaks me out? People can be so hateful! And weird! And none of it has been directed at me, but yikes! I am tucking my tale and coming back home to CD board.

  • I just scheduled the first appointment for the 20th. It's a different practice than w/ my first. The docs with DS1 switched health systems halfway through my pregnancy, and when that happened scheduling became a nightmare. Changing time/location/etc without ever telling me. Scheduling an US when they didn't even have one available that day, so having to reschedule. Letting me sit over an hour in the waiting room for an appt without so much of a heads up that they were that far behind. It was like the receptionists never bothered to Talk to the docs. So now I'm going with the practice my friend loves.

I apparently have to take a class with the new practice, and need to go w/o DS. I don't want to go, and have to find yet another babysitter. So I'm going to whine about that too.

Any symptoms I might have I'm not sure if it's because of DS. Sore nips when he latches, but not sure if that's because he's still teething. Bouts of tiredness, but not sure if that's because he is still going through that sleep regression.
  • Nothing new to report.  My A/S was a bust because baby girl was face down the whole time, they couldn't get good images of her face or heart, so I'm going back tomorrow for that.  Otherwise...I'm dying from heartburn.  Oh my!  I'm asking for something better than zantac tomorrow.

  • I've gone to the 1st Tri board, and it's crazy there. Makes me wary of my BMB. But I don't think I've seen anything too crazy yet....
  • I think I feel good enough to finally post here. I'm five weeks today. I have an appointment next week and they said they will schedule an ultrasound a few days later. After two recent losses I am just so ready to see a heartbeat.

As for symptoms, I'm crazy bloated. All of my pants are tight. I've been living in yoga pants for the last few days. I'm hoping it will go down a bit before the real bump starts to grow. I've been nauseous for the last couple of days. I figure I have about a week before I'm in full-blown puke fest.

Anyone here not have breast tenderness? I've had a bit in the evenings but nothing like what I had with my son.

Congrats, and FX for a great u/s. I have had zero breast tenderness this time around.

  • @oliversmommy32912 - FX for a great u/s here, too!

I think this time around the breast tenderness didn't kick in until about 6 or 7 weeks. Around the same time, DS decided that crashing into my chest was absolutely the bees knees, so this may have exacerbated the problem a tad. :p

  • Is anyone else still BF a LO? I'm hoping my supply holds out til he's at least a year. I've been making sure to drink plenty of water as a result. I don't know if all the peeing is from that or being KU.
  • I'm 6w 3d and all day sickness has set in. It sucks!! Very hard not to tell my coworkers why I am slacking. I haven't even made an appointment yet, because all they do at the first one is get how they are getting paid taken care off. I have a regular appt in February and I think I will just go to that one and tell her I'm prego.

@nvandgz We are in the process of weaning. I was nursing daily until about 16 weeks. She was over 1 when I got KU though, so I wasn't trying to keep up my supply or anything. GL! How much longer till LO is 1?

He will be 10mo on Monday, so only a couple more months. I should be just shy of 15weeks when he turns one. I've been incredibly lucky and blessed to have breastfeeding go so well. So here's to hoping my luck doesn't run out! But at least he's started to take his sippy now, so I won't have to feel as bad if my supply doesn't hold out. He has a long history of bottle refusing.
