Nursery Temperature

How warm do/will you keep the room for a newborn/infant?

We live in an older home, so often our bedroom, where LO will sleep for several weeks at least, is barely 60 degrees at night.  I know I can put a layer/two under the sleep sack/swaddler, but what about LO's tiny exposed head??

    @DreamingBabies not really- with it set to 70, our room barely reaches 60.  We could try cranking the house to 80, but there's no telling what temp that would get our old drafty room up to...

    @LittleApple - I thought hats were a no-no in the crib/bassinet?

    Yes - I just wasn't sure how warm it should be... it's hard to keep an old house in northern New England warm/consistent....

    I had my son sleeping in a RNP near my bed and had a lightweight knit hat on him.  I would not put a hat on a baby in a crib or flat surface.

    I would get a heater, especially of you plan on nursing, it will be much more disruptive to your sleep as well if you get cold everytime you get up to feed/change/walk the baby!
    My kids needed to be walked/bounced to sleep for a while as well when they woke at night. No more staying snuggled under the covers all night long :)

    I mean, it would be cold to make bottles as well, I'm just imagining sitting their with your chest exposed for nursing :)
