Re: CPW: How many hours of work do you accomplish on an average day?

  • I bet the 4-5ers work 8 hour days and the 8-9ers work 12s.

When I was billing, it would be a good day to do 6 billable hours of work in a regular work day (ie, 9-5).

  • My work is definitely seasonal.  So right now I would say that I work 4-5 (with an 8 hr day scheduled) but when my season picks up in a month or two I will work 8-12 hours per day, every day.

  • I only work part time right now, but I usually work pretty much all of it except for the 5 minutes I take to get a snack and go to the bathroom before kinder lunch starts.  I also tend to come to school 5-10 minutes early and I spend about an hour at home working on projects.

  • I'm at work 8.5-9 hours a day typically and the only free time I have is my 30 min. lunch. Being a teacher, I'm "on" all day.

  • I work 8-9 -- I work on clinical research projects and we have to write down all our time spent on various tasks during the day. They kind of monitor that tasks don't take too long, so I have to be honest. Plus there's usually too much work to do. SomedayI don't want to have to complete daily time sheets!!! Ugh

  • I have a farm so it changes with the seasons.  In the summer when I hay I work from sunup to sundown (sometimes even in the dark) and in the fall and spring it only takes an hour or two to take care of the animals.  Calving season I might work all day and all night but I hope not to.

Somedays I get hardly any "work" done because I am dealing with students or issues. I am technically working and the work is valuable but not the same as checking things off my to do list!

THIS! @snedge I feel like we might do the same type of work.... Some days my walkie talkie goes of all day, I am lucky to eat lunch by 3 (dismissal is 3:30) and sit down with out hearing my name every 5 minutes. All of it due to student behavior... Other days, it never goes off and I am at my desk all day.... It's a toss up!

What do you do by the way? :)
