What kind of blanket does your LO use?

Just wondering...DS has a think fleece kind of blanket in his crib but I feel like he needs something heavier; it gets cold in our house!  I love all of the cute duvet covers the Ikea has, but is a little down with a duvet just way too much for a crib? I feel like he would get lost in there.

So what do you have?  Is it easy to clean?  We sometimes have pee-through-the-diaper nights so I need to be able to toss it in the wash.

Re: What kind of blanket does your LO use?

  • He sleeps with anywhere from 3-6 fleece blankets (probably 3'x3.5') and is never really under any of them, mostly on top of them or cuddled to the side of them.  It is pretty chilly in our house but DS never wakes up cold and it doesn't seem to bother him with how he's dressed/not using his blankets for cover/warmth.  If you think your DS would stay under a blanket, you could give it a try but it would likely just end up in a ball under my DS.

  • DS sleeps in a fleece sleep sack plus uses a blanky. DD just uses a blanky. Both are the same, although I bought DD's a year or so earlier than DS's, and hers seems just slightly more thick to me...they must have changed the "recipe" at some point.

They are soft, wash easily, hold up well, and are super cozy and warm:

  • We use the Halo Early Walker fleece sleep sacks over her jammies. she has two small fleece blankets too, but like the others said, she mostly balls them up and sleeps on top of them.

  • Thanks all! I totally forgot we have two knit blankets in his closet so I'll throw those in there. He will actually roll up under his blanket now so while he's obviously not uncomfortably cold since he doesn't walk up, I know he can get a little chilly :)
  • We have a gazillion blankets that we use interchangeably. Most of the time he gets a fleece blanket. I've just swapped it out, though so one of the fleece goes to DC and his miracle blanket from A+A is in his crib at night. It's much bigger and stays on him better. Plus it was ridiculous to have the $50 blanket at daycare.
  • Like pp I just bought the early walker sleep sack. I put her in warm pjs and that sleep sack. She has a lovey and we keep the house at 72.
