Brrrr

Everyone is talking about it, so lets discuss! How is your weather this week? Are you staying in as much as possible or does it not bother you? It is frigid here! It was -9 with wind chill off -25 or something similar. It is supposed to be positive temps for the rest of the week though! We're not leaving today, DH told me I wasn't allowed to take DS out today lol. We are out of milk so I'm going to have to brave it sometime tonight.

Re: Brrrr

  • Tell me about it, we were -20 with a -47 degree windchill. I didn't go anywhere and they closed school today and tomorrow which obviously is not common when you live in Minnesota! It's supposed to be 35 sunday so I guess I'll break out the shorts!

I was gonna say, your weather is similar to ours, just 5-10 degrees colder since you're north of us. Our schools were canceled as well for the cold. So strange. I don't think that's ever happened before.
  • I don't know how you all are still happy when it's so cold. I would be so miserable.

We have had a beautiful sunny day with 70 degree weather on Saturday and then this stupid cold front moved in. Last night we had a hard freeze with 22 degrees as a low, but by noon it was back to 32, which is still too freaking cold! Later this week it's supposed to be back in the 60's though, so I am looking forward to that!

  • It's so weird here in Bavaria right now. Normally, we'd have a ton of snow on the ground and I'd be complaining about the frigid weather. Instead, it's been mainly in the 40s and not a bit of snow to be seen. I'm pretty sure German Mother Nature is just waiting for me to go into labor before dumping 3 feet of snow on the ground in 10 minutes, or something equally ridiculous! :)

    Stay warm, everyone!

  • Ricola I am so jealous! We (Colorado) haven't been too bad. Overnight has gotten chilly but today our highs today are in the mid 40's. We are supposed to travel to IL in a couple weeks and DH will have to drag me on the plane if these negative temps keep up!

Same here!!!  The crazy thing is that I don't think it is THAT bad.  I went out on Sunday and ran a few quick errands and then have gone to work both yesterday & today.

I can understand that, I think when you get into the teens -30+ start to feel the same. Everything is just cold!

  • It's -6 with a -25 windchill. The pipes in my master bath are frozen. I am praying they don't burst. My kids have been sick for almost 2 wks so we have barely left the house.

  • I was at Kwik Trip topping off the tank on our pickup because DH didn't think it was important... The whole time it was at least -19 if not colder (a paramedic who happened to be filling up at the pump next to mine said they were already reporting -47 with wind chill), I was bouncing from one foot to the other with fingers going numb in insulated leather gloves saying to myself "I love my husband... I love my husband..."...

We didn't have school either day this week - we couldn't be so lucky as to have tomorrow AM too, but oh well, maybe it's because we're in a "sweet spot" with DD where I don't mind a snow/cold day with her...

  • We have been having mild winter weather in comparison to the rest of the country. We're too far west to be affected by the arctic vortex. Highs have been in the mid 30s with lows in the teens. Last night we got about 3 inches of snow so today the roads are pretty bad. We're supposed to get more snow tonight. I'm not complaining about it though. It could be so much worse, and we need the snow. Our local ski resorts have had to close runs due to a lack of snow, which is pretty much unheard of in January. Such strange weather this winter.
