Question re: LOs with reflux

Coming out of lurkdom to ask a question

Colin has reflux and is doing really well on Zantac, but my issue is finding a place for him to sit when he is done eating. If I put him in the pack and play or crib, he will roll over onto his tummy and spit up. He can basically crawl out of the rock and play now, so that's out. I put him in his high chair this morning after his bottle, but I feel bad because then he's stuck in the kitchen; plus sometimes he gets sleepy and wants to be more comfy. I was wondering if anybody had suggestions for something LOs can sit in/on that will keep them upright. I wish they had an RNP that was stationary and bigger, LOL! Thanks!

Is a bouncy seat an option?

I agree on the bouncy seat option. I can't see their ages (I'm on mobile), but would it be possible to sit him in the high chair and give him a special toy to play with? Or maybe a cool book (flaps and touch and feels were always big hits for my boys). I never really had luck with the upright sitting after bottles, so I'm no help. But, the big turn around came at 10 months when we moved away from purees to real table food. Before that, my carpet was orange and green (yuck!).

Hang in there, mama. It's so hard!!

I agree with @Ruthie04, what about leaving in the high chair with some toys or something to look at. Is the reflux bad just after bottles? Are you doing food too? Reflux was soooo much better and went away when we were doing food. When do you give him the meds? We mixed it in the bottle and that seemed to work really well for us too.

How old are they again? What about a jumper or a bumbo type seat? E was using both of those at 3 months.

The boys are 9 1/2 months. They do eat some food, mostly purées and he does better after purée than bottle. We give him the meds at 5 am and pm... Never thought about mixing it in the bottle, that would be nice since he hates taking it lol.

We could do the bouncy; I just wish there was something he could kind of lounge in in case he wanted to go back to sleep. Maybe I should invent something... I do work for patent lawyers

Kind of like the Nap Nanny? I know that was recalled though. But if it is used properly, something like that might help.
