It is DD's name. We get a fair amount of mispronunciations, but we knew that we would when we chose it. It is becoming more common so more recognizable.
I love that name, but for some reason when I read it fast I always mispronounce it!! I teach and kids and teachers have a hard time with this one in school. But if you don't care about that ... I think it's a very nice name.
It will be my daughter's name, and we have got a ton of compliments. I think people are more honest when you tell the name before the baby is born, and I was surprised that my whole family said they like it.
This is our girl name, so I super love it. I don't know anyone that has used it, and I am around A LOT of kids, but it is getting more popular throughout the country. Also, once I mentioned it to my friends/family, they all loved it too.
It's pretty enough, but it has all of the makings of a name that will sound dated in a few years. It sort of came from obscurity and has shot up in popularity and I think it will continue to climb.
5 years ago this name wasn't even on the top 1000 name list (the SSA list) and it was 230 in 2012.

My almost 5 year old DD is named Isla Paige . I get as many good compliments as I do mispronunciations but I have regrets. I hate to think of it getting more popular because 5 years ago, it wasn't at all popular. So part of me says " best name ever!" And another part of me says " no, heavens no, don't name your DD that!"

This is how I feel. I was very hesitant to go with it knowing how it was trending up, but DH loved it and wouldn't budge. For some reason the rising trajectory of DS1's name (Reed) doesn't bother me at all.
I love it!! The only issue is mispronunciations. I went the last 5 years or so saying "Is-la Fisher" instead of the eye-la pronunciation. So when I learned the right way, I felt dumb!
I think it is very beautiful, though! We won't use it because DH says he can't say it without wanting to say Island.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
I love it...very pretty!!
I am one of the few here that dislike the name.
