BEST FORMULA MIXER FOR TRIPLETS

Looking for the best mixer to do a days worth of formula at once.  I had one with DD, but it was small and did not work well (it was a Dr Browns).  We use Dr Browns bottles, but the mixer was awful.  A couple people had mentioned a pitcher and a spoon, but that was so lumpy.  Any better suggestions?  TIA!

Re: BEST FORMULA MIXER FOR TRIPLETS

  • I used a large pitcher and a immersion blender. The hand kind came out no lumps no extra work.

  • We used a rubbermaid juice jug. It had a water tight snap on lid (I think it was 1.5 or 2 liters). That way we could put in everything and just shake it up. Granted my LOS never liked power so we stayed on concentrated formula. We also did up enough bottles for the day - faster than pouring and than cleaned everything at once at the end of the day
  • Great ideas!  Thanks!  I do have an immersion blender I never used...great use!

  • I don't know if this is an option or anything you'd be interested in but I thought I'd mention it. We struggled with the premixing for several weeks with DD using the Dr. Brown pitcher and then putting the bottle in a cup of hot water to warm. Then one night of half asleep feeding we realized we could just use our water cooler, which had a hot water tap on it. We would just mix hot and cold in the bottle till it was the right temp, dump out any extra, add the formula, cap, and shake. We never had any problems with lumps etc. I think we'll do the same with the twins.

  • Probably not big enough to mix a huge quantity at a time, but I use a blender bottle (made for protein shakes) for their evening supplement bottle and it leaves no lumps at all. It's like magic, lol.
