I'd like to start pumping to create a stockpile. My LO is 2.5 weeks and we go about three hours between feelings. I'm wondering when between feelings would be best to being pumping? How long do you pump per session to store in the freezer?
I pump right after my first feeding in the morning. I have the best supply then. I don't wait because you still want about 2-3 hours between feedings. I pump for about 10 minutes.
Your prolactin is highest in the am. Feed on one side and pump the other each morning to create a stash.
ETA I pump between 15-20 min. About 5 min after i stop spraying.
I also pump am and then again about 7-8pm. She takes a long rest from about 6-9 so if I pump at 7pm I'm regenerated when she wakes at 9pm. I pump for 15 min then for 5 extra min after the milk stops spraying.

This is what the LC told me at the hospital. She said only pump once a day and alternate sides otherwise you will increase your supply (since your body would register to start producing more milk to meet demand).
