  This. Throw in some pool noodles or a spatula to play with or Tupperware. No need to spend money- plenty of stuff around the house to get into!

  I think 8 months old is a bit young for a climbing toy and slide and I'm not sure I would encourage stairs just yet. But definitely the pillows on the floor, maybe a tunnel, or something like that.

  It would be for his birthday but it's not too young for him. We were just a play place that had one & he could move around with no issues. Climbed up different levels
