DD: Daycare Wait List Rant

I am so annoyed with my work's day care, which is excellent. I've worked there eight years and have been on the list since I found out I was pregnant. I have several colleagues who have worked there less than two years and somehow magically got their babies in when there wasn't even an open wait list (they only open the list every so often). I called today to find out I haven't moved up since August, though I know people who left the company and their babies were taken out, creating vacancies. I can't figure out how this whole thing works, but I obviously don't know which strings to pull. We have a good back-up, but I'm still royally pissed, especially considering my tenure with the company. Ugh. Thanks for reading and rant over.

    I'm sorry they're being dicks. But I am so jealous you have a daycare at your work! I'd kill for that!!!!!

    It could be a sibling thing, I guess. Though my friends whose kids are already there didn't have to go on the list -- they got automatic entry for kid 2. But they say I'm No. 30 for the 6wk-6 months list, and there are 25 slots in that room. Anyway, I need to get over it since I have another good option and it's near my office. I should just be grateful for having multiple good possibilities! Thanks for commiserating ladies!
