What's your favorite bath brand?

DS recently developed terrible dry skin, so it got me thinking about switching from our Johnson & Jonhson lavender to something else.  I also remember hearing some negative things about carcinogens in J&J, and even though they've supposedly fixed it I still want to find something else.  What's everyone else using?

  • We switched from J&J to Aveeno Baby products, and I like it a lot more.

This is actually what I was thinking about doing, but just learned that J&J makes Aveeno.  So I'm still paranoid about the carcinogen scare! I know I'm probably just being silly...

  • Oh and what about the ones that are sold just as a "bath wash," do you use that as shampoo as well or are you buying a seperate shampoo?

The burt's bees and Aleva are a wash and shampoo in one.  So I just use one.

  • LO had a bad reaction to Aveeno, we use either Cetaphil or Aquafor unscented soap.  I prefer to Aquafor because Cetaphil doesn't get sudsy and I don't feel like I can clean him well with it.

I was using Johnson's and my DD started getting really bad dry skin (eczema I think?) all over her body so I had to switch to burts bees fragrance free and we love it!

My DD had a terrible reaction to the baby aveeno.. She broke out in like hives all over the first time using it.
  • We use Mustela soap. DS smells so good after his baths.

  • J&J also had my DD peeling and dry and our Pediatrician recommended Ceraveve. After 4 nights of her screaming in the bath which she never does we realized it must have been burning her.  We now use Aveno wash and lotion and no problems.  I was told anything scented or colored is not good for baby skin.

  • We use Burt's Bees too, the scented one. He doesn't seem to have any sensitivities though.

We also use Mustela. I switched to Mustela, because LO has eczema and it has helped his skin so much!

  • We use aveeno but LO's skin is so dry. I am about to switch to Burt's bees.

  • Burt's Bees makes their skin really soft and smells great. But neither of my kids has problems with dry skin at all.
    DS: 2/17/11          DD: 9/4/13
  • Our pedi recommended Aquaphor shampoo for DDs dry skin and cradle cap. It works well!

  • I still just use water. Lo isn't dirty yet. My mw recommended just water until they are more mobile and get dirty (or eating). So water and then coconut oil as lotion. His skin is great.

  • We also switched from J&J and Aveeno since it's owned by J&J (plus LO does not tolerate the Aveeno well). We are using Honest Baby. I like it. It's tear free and it smells like herbs! Although supposedly it's Vanilla Orange scented? I don't see it.
  • I love the blue johnson and johnson!  I think its body wash and bath bubbles.  It smells soooo good!
