Still bleeding after 3 weeks?

I had a missed miscarriage discovered on December 10th and took misoprostol. I had period like bleeding for about a week which went down to very light bleeding for a few days. But I have been spotting ever since. I haven't had any days with absolutely no spotting. Has anyone else had this? I am worried and don't know when to expect my next AF.
TTC Since August, 2013

    Did the dr give you an u/s or did he watch your hcg levels go to 0? I had the same thing happen and didn't pass everything.

    Yah I had a follow up ultrasound which was clear. My HCG levels have been checked too.

    Does you Dr know you're still bleeding? Mine said to call if it lasts more than 2 wks to check for infection.

    I bled for a good 2 weeks or so, and have been spotting ever since. If it goes on for more than another week, I'll call my doctor.  ((hugs))

    What kind of infection? I don't have any other signs of infection. I just did follow up HCG bloodwork today so I will get those results tomorrow hopefully.

    I stopped spotting on Friday. Then I started again today. But today I'm wondering if this is the start of my period. It is now exactly 4 weeks since my m/c. I'm so worried now :S

    @sweetiepops Sorry, I'm not sure. She just said "infection". I didn't probe more because I wanted to get the hell out of there.
    I guess if there is tissue left behind, it can become infected.

    I have also been bleeding for 4 weeks after a diagnosis of a blighted ovum..(I should have been 8 weeks pregnant but had an empty gestational sac that stopped developing at 5w6days) . My OB says that it's normal but to call back if it reaches 5 weeks to discuss "options" . So far I've been able to miscarry naturally and I'd like to keep it that way hopefully..

    I spoke to my OB today- she said that spotting is normal up until I get my 1st AF. She said if it was an infection I would feel extreme pain and have a fever, which I definitely don't have. Hopefully that information helps someone else too!
