The never ending winter break

Dd was out of school since Dec 19th she was due back yesterday. Yesterday and today school is closed due to extreme cold. Seriously six year olds are hard to deal with. How am I going to entertain her for one more day. She's been bouncing off the walls for a week now.
Hey I just met you, and you're my baby. This is your family, we're kind of crazy...Lilypie Kids Birthday tickersLilypie - (tl9S)Lilypie - (zrx8)imageimageimage

Re: The never ending winter break

  • Yep the 20th was our last day and we were suppose to go back yesterday. Still no school and our roads are still not good. I was planning to get some grocery shopping done and DH said no way roads are bad! I'm getting cabin fever

  • My school-age kids are 12 and 8 so they've been entertaining themselves so far this morning, they've built a fort in the dining room..but I was totally looking forward to relaxing today after the nasty migraine I had last night. Now I have to do lunches and shit...blah.

  • I love being home with my girls but I am missing my students too. I'm dying to hear about their Christmas and toys they got. Plus this is digging into summer break

  • Our district rarely cancels school and will not based on temperature. We have a lot of low income families so they worry about kids not having food or heat so they try to not cancel school.

I just was looking at the local news site and there was an article about a 92 year old man found with severe hypothermia.  It was DH's landlord from when he was in college.  The heat went off in the building overnight.

He was a nice guy, I hope everything works out okay.

Do you not have snow days built into your calendar?
We had 2 built in days which we used at the beginning of December when we got a snow.
