Hey Ladies! This is my first time jumping over on this board so first off hi, SO and I are expecting his 1st & 2nd and my 2nd & 3rd at the end of July! I'm sure I'll start spending more time here as I get further along and definitely once I get back to work. I had a quick question for those of you who had or have longer commutes. I spend about 3 hours a day, 1 1/2 each way commuting to and from work. I'm already getting uncomfortable sitting in traffic, seems like everything is happening much quicker this time. What advice or tips do you have for staying comfortable while making your way to and from work? Thanks so much!
Re: Comfort During Long Commutes
Definitely hydrate and stretch and you may want to stop part way & get out & walk around. I'd talk to your OB about thoughts on that length of commute as you get closer to the end...
As far as not physically being able to drive, it depends on how you carry and probably the type of car. I drove a Jeep Cherokee up to 42 weeks, and I'm 5'1".
For comfort, I'd also suggest bringing a small pillow to put behind your lower back if you need it.
