Is there an 8 month wakeful period?

LO won't nap and he's impossible to get to bed, up until 10 the last couple of nights. He's so close to crawling so maybe that's it. He's not fussy just doesn't seem tired. Anyone else? Advice?

  • OMG mine did this last night too and has been doing it once in awhile. She is 8 months on the 10th.

  • We're not going through a wakeful period per se, but definitely a change in sleeping patterns.

  • I usually notice a more wakeful baby when he's working on mastering a new skill.  It could definitely be the crawling!

A has woken up at 4:20 the last 2 nights when she's normally a 5:45/6:00 waker. She's not hungry--just chatty and lonely. She'll lie in bed with us and maybe catnap a few minutes, but mostly talking til we give up and get up for the day.
This was us, too... and then he started sleeping even later than normal.

  • C has been having sleeping troubles too. She is much more mobile so I think she want to practice during her sleep. Ugh. She never used to roll onto her tummy at night but now she wakes herself up rolling over 10 mins after I put her down over and over and over and over and over again...so. tired.
