Itchy Breast?

So I don't know if anyone has any suggestions or if this has happened to anyone else (if not I may call into the Doctor) but I am exclusively breast feeding and just within the past couple weeks my breasts itch (sorry maybe tmi..) so bad. Its not the nipple its the entire breasts. It also kind of seems like a mosquito bite due to the fact that if I itch it its going to itch even worse but if I just grin and bare it its just going to itch some (doesn't seem like it goes away but is bearable). Does anyone know what to do?

For me, it was one or two things: Yeast had built up under my breast (that came with a rash) or it was because my breasts were stretching due to increase in size. Just like my belly would itch when I was pregnant, my boobs itch the same way. Doc suggested I use cortisone cream to help if it was unbearable.

I have also had yeast under my breast (when I was BFing DS2). Had to use athelete's foot cream to kill the fungus.

In any event, give a call into the OB. Could be nothing, but could be something. At the very least is there a RN line that you can call?

I actually talked yo my Dr about this. I started to get little red bumps on mine, mainly above the nipple. They looked like little flea bites and itched like crazy! I also itched in places without the bumps. She assured me that this was normal. She suggested that the I change my nursing pads often, more than I was. She also reminded me that my skin was stretching.
That was my experience, but I do recommend having your dr take a look to make sure.
