Re: ~~**Weekly Check-In**~~
New to the board and happy to be here!
Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
Not exactly sure...Haven't had my first appointment yet. I think 5 weeks. I think I'm in poppy seed range. Too soon to feel at all comfortable!
2) Age at delivery? (optional)
I will be 41.
3) Any other children? Furbabies?
Yes...I have a 14 month old son.
4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?
Not feeling much of anything yet. A little crampy. A little breast tenderness at times. Definitely peeing more!
5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
First OB appointment tomorrow. Mostly talking I think. Too soon to see anything. But, I am a high risk pregnancy so he wants to see me right away.
QOTW: What's is your go-to recipe for a potluck?
I usually do a pasta salad with pepperoni, cheese, and olives.
2. I'll be 38 at delivery
3. 3.5 yr old son, 19 month old son
4. Feeling very tired, have a little insomnia (This didn't happen with my other pregnancies), nausea off and on
5. My first appointment is tomorrow (my annual)...oh joy. I'll talk to my dr then about everything and get my prescription for zofran. Things are going well and I'm really excited to be able to exercise (so far).
2) Age at delivery? (optional) 36, assuming full-term.
3) Any other children? Furbabies? Six furkids of the feline persuasion.
4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week? Pretty good actually. My morning coffee and I are having a fight. It keeps saying, "Ima make you nauseous, bitch!" and I keep saying, "Bring it on." Thus far we are tied - I am nauseous but not puking.
5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? First midwife visit is tomorrow!
QOTW: What's is your go-to recipe for a potluck? I make homemade Indian food. Chicken tikka masala and na'an are my specialties.
First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
2) Age at delivery? (optional)
3) Any other children? Furbabies?
4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?
5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
Just had my level 2 ultrasound yesterday. It was so amazing! We got to see the brain, heart, spine, kidneys! They measure all parts of the baby to see if he is measuring where he is supposed to be at this time. He is doing great and we got some GREAT pictures!! You get to find out gender if you want also. Although, we had already found out he was a boy from the Materniti21 test.
QOTW: What's is your go-to recipe for a potluck?
1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 21 weeks today.
2) Age at delivery? (optional) 41
3) Any other children? Furbabies? 2 spoiled mutts
4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week? I continue to need a lot of sleep, but I've always liked my sleep. I'm feeling a lot of movement yesterday and today, which is so fun.
5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? I have another U/S next week to monitor growth.
QOTW: What's is your go-to recipe for a potluck? For the holidays, my family always expects me to bring a dish we call Hot Corn. It's kinda like rice krispie treats - I don't want them to ever discover how easy it is.
2 cans whole kernel corn, drained
8 oz light cream cheese
2 cans chopped green chiles
1/4 cup milk
1/2 stick butter
Melt cream cheese & butter in casserole dish. Add milk, corn, chiles. Stir in salt & pepper to taste. Bake for 20 minutes at 350.

2) Age at delivery? (optional)
41
3) Any other children? Furbabies?

4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?
Feet have begun to swell so that is a lot of fun. I am trying to massage them and elevate them at night which helps. Other than that not too bad, just more tired than normal.
5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
Routine appointment next week, then the appointments start getting closer together (every 2 weeks). I signed DH and I up for a "birth basics" class and a childcare class. I don't know if they will be necessary, but as a FTM I was getting nervous about not doing anything. Also taking a tour of the maternity ward of the hospital soon.
QOTW: What's is your go-to recipe for a potluck?
Usually spinach-artichoke dip. Yum.
2) Age at delivery? 36
3) Any other children? None of the two legged variety yet, only 2 pups.
4) How are you feeling? Super tired & having lots of back/hip pain. LO has gotten into kickboxing too, no more subtle movements! LOL
5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? Had 31 week growth ultrasound today & all is looking great. I have a follow up w/my doc on 1/9/14 and will be beginning appointments every 2 weeks after that. 1/9/14 is exactly 2 months till my due date, I still can't believe it!
QOTW: What's is your go-to recipe for a potluck? I'm not big on cooking so I always bring a 7 layer dip which for being an easy recipe always seems to be a big hit.

FTM. One adorable dog.
4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?
Nausea still comes and goes, but I have found ways to manage it. My only new "symptom" was some digestive distress on our vacation in Mexico this past week, but that might have happened anyway - given the destination.
5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
I graduated from my RE's office after a second u/s on Dec. 27 (strong heartbeat and on-track growth!), and I have my first prenatal appointment with my OB next week. I think he'll do the Materniti21 test that day.
QOTW: What's is your go-to recipe for a potluck?
Hmm. A big green salad with a lot of fruit in in it.

5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
I have a check-in with my General Phy since I have already gained 7 lbs in 4 weeks and I am not eating badly or a lot. OB won't see me yet. I have a nurse visit, may change, scheduled late next week for blood and history.

@surpriseat39 - is Caldareta similar at all to Apritada? My friend made that for me one time and it was so good. Oh, and her lumpia was amazing. Now I'm hungry.

It sounds similar recipe-wise.
Some people make Caldareta rather runny, but I prefer mine thick and spicy.
I serve it over rice and I haven't met a person yet that didn't like it. Only people that preferred it less spicy than I do.
I don't think I've ever had Apritada, but there was a lot of stuff I never caught the names of.
*I dated a Philipino guy for 4 years. This and Chicken Adobo were the only dishes I learned to prepare.

January PAL siggie challenge; Good advice:
- EDD May 7 - 23 weeks today. Grapefruit? Which I don't get (as with most of these fruit things) because fetuses/babies at this stage are not that shape at all. oh well.
2) Age at delivery?
- 39
3) Any other children? Furbabies?
- Just 2 cats.
4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?
- physically - still daily afternoon heartburn; some days headaches though thankfully much less this past week than the previous week. Really tired again this week, though, even though we got a 3-day weekend thanks to ice ... thought there'd be a few more weeks of not being so tired. Maybe it's partly from being stuck indoors too much and will get better next week if weather is better? Also feel like I have to really work to get enough breath sometimes especially when laying down and also thought it was too early for that problem! I'm really not very big yet (mostly just look like i've been overeating) but maybe stuff is more squished inside instead of popping out. Dunno.

QOTW: What's is your go-to recipe for a potluck? Mac and Cheese or crock pot chili
Yes, 10PM, @springbeduk2. I think they like to get you in there at night, monitored, etc...by the time they give you pitocin and you start getting contractions it's morning and all if the doctors are there for the day. I guess there is a better chance you will get your doctor and not deliver the following night and get whomever is in call. Just a guess, I'm not sure...
