I'm a little bored with all the same themes I keep seeing for boys on pinterest. Anyone else stuck? How many of you have a nice color scheme going but no theme as far as "Dr. Seuss" "jungle" ect..searching for some inspiration!:)

I always think themes are fun. Some boy themes I think are underused are Cowboy, Firehouse, Alphabet, and Transportation. Love them...so cute when done right.
For us we did our nurseries based on stuff we had from our childhoods. For DS1 we did a jungle theme because we had lion from DHs nursery. For DS2s we did a teddy bear theme because I had a bear blanket from my childhood. It was green so we ended up incorporating green and brown for his room and even found bedding to go with the theme.....along with really cute stuffed bears. It turned out really cute. But we would have done our themes if we had had girls too since all the old stuff wasn't gender specific.
I would check out the Land of Nod, Walmart.com (they have big name stuff online), amazon, and pottery barn for ideas.

For my son's nursery a few years ago I had a "light" bulldog theme. You can check it out at davisdrive.weebly.com. I mentioned where I purchased everything.
I hate themes for nurseries! For ds, I had a color scheme of aqua, orange, and brown. For this little guy, we're keeping the orange and adding navy blue and gray, along with some chevron.
im not a huge fan of traditional 'themes' with the jungle wall decals, etc.
I think we're going to do a surf theme for this baby - a red/orange 'sunset' accent wall, light blue other walls, and maybe a surf poster or something like that. We already have a yellow chevron crib sheet from DD, and thats the only thing I can think of that I like. I looked at a zillion nursery pics yesterday and nothing jumped out at me.

We didn't find out what we were having. We painted the room blue because we both like blue and ended up with a boy. I plan to hold off on any type of theme until DS is old enough to tell me what he would like his room to look like.
We decided to go with grey chevron, aqua, and elephants. I would have loved to paint the walls, but can't since we live in an apartment. If we have a girl next ill switch out the aqua and add pink, so think the theme is good as its interchangeable.
I like polka dots, they are fun for a child to goe up with and you can pick out a happy colour to feature. Shelly
If you use multy coloued polka dots you can pick a colour out to featue the oom will have a happy friendly vibe and your bub can help decorate when he is old enough. Shelly, BabyCribSafetyNet.com
@Jmattis Where did you get your sheets? They are so cute! And the three elephants - PBK? We plan on doing a very similar theme!

At first I wasn't going to do a theme and just go with a taupe and blue color scheme. Our walls are already taupe and I'm too lazy to paint so I'm matching the bedding to the walls. We decided to go with the discontinued Pottery Barn Kids Bradley bedding. I just bought the quilt and crib skirt off ebay for a pretty good price. I'd love to get the sheet too but not sure I will as it's too pricey on ebay. The quilt won't be used at all when he's in the crib so it's mainly for decoration until he's older and we aren't getting the matching bumper!
I am planning a "up in the air" theme for ds2 due in June. I am re-using bedding from ds1, which is primary colors from pottery barn 3 years ago. Planning on incorporating a hanging biplane, kite, and hot air balloons, and using some cloud decals. Here are some of my inspiration photos:
I started with no theme. Just navy, green, and white. Then I found a blanket I loved with an alligator on it and since we've added a few alligators to his room. Our theme now is "Florida", that's our home state and we moved away 3 years ago so I thought it was fitting. Alligators, turtles, cut out of the state of Florida, an oar to hang on his wall, etc. Good luck, I think boy rooms are hard!
