I forgot how much the first trimester sucks

Between the constant nausea all day and not being able to sleep all night it's terrible. And I have to pee about 3 times a night these days. What is everyone doing to help the nausea? It seems worse for me this pregnancy. I'm only 6.5 weeks along so I have a long road ahead.

Re: I forgot how much the first trimester sucks

  • I nibble on saltines and just try to ignore it.

Honestly, nothing really works for me.

  • I am not really drinking that much before bed I don't think? I will try not to drink anything after 7 tonight and see if that helps.

  • I'm getting up 3 times a night too. I remember when DS was due I was getting up 8 times a night to pee. It was terrible.
  • Preggie Pop Drops have helped me so much.

  • Peppermint tea, and remembering to eat mor often is really helping. And a half of tablet of unisom at night is helping my insomnia- I am trying a half tablet with the B6 this week for nausea, so far I feel better.

  • I can't wait until Thursday and I can eat cheese again. I will eat an entire block of cheddar. I just know it.

    Cheese and crackers NOM.

  • I feel your pain lack of sleep and MS are going to be the death of me! We leave for Hawaii on Sunday and I'm very nervous about MS on the plane ride....any suggestions?
  • Nothing seems to be helping at the moment. I just tore open another bag of saltines at my desk...hoping that will do something (anything!) to get me through this morning. As for the nighttime, I was experiencing the frequent bathroom trips for a few days there as well, but I've backed off on beverages after 8pm and it's helped.

Sit in the aisle if you can and drink a lot of water. Have the barf bag ready just in case. Do you normally get airsickness?

  • No, but I also used to never get car sick and now I almost always do.

  • That sucks. I would make sure you are blowing cold air on yourself constantly (that always helps me). maybe bring some crackers or something with you to nibble on. You could call your Dr. too and see if they recommend something.

  • I so don't remember it being this bad, but my husband assures me it was. I've been drinking ginger tea, nibbling crackers, sucking on lemon drops, and being miserable.  I might ask for a prescription for Zofran as I remember that helping last time.  Question about the Unisom - I hear about it a lot with B6. do you take the b6 separately? Or does it come together?

  • I take 1 B6 in the morning and 1 unisom at night. (vs two halves a day)
It does help, especially in the early mornings when I used to wake nauseous.

  • Ditto sea bands! They don't cure my ms but they totally take the edge off enough so that I can leave the couch sometimes..

  • All fruit Popsicles have helped me, however living in michigan right now a frozen Popsicle when it's -30 outside doesn't found good either
  • What are these magical seabands?

  • I use seabands, medication, and eat small frequent meals. I only throw up bile in the AM and have the lingering feeling afterwords until about 12PM. Preggie drops helped but I lost mine and don't want to go out and buy them.
