Daycare or no daycare?

LO has her first cold :( She had a runny nose all day yesterday and coughed a lot of the night. No fever and she's in good spirits.

She stays with a lady who homeschools her teenage kids and she also takes care of a lady's 2-year-old. Would you take her to daycare or no? (DCP's rule is fever free for 24 hours).

Update: DCP said she's okay if she doesn't have a fever and will watch her closely today. Problem solved!

  • @bleachy14 Thanks! That's what I'll probably do.

@kdc2007. DH can't take off. I have sick days, but I already have patients scheduled all day today so it would be a bummer (for the families) to have to cancel all of them.

  • My kids have literally had a cold (one or the other and often both) for months - no exaggeration.  I follow the policies and they go if they have a cold.  Hope she feels better!

  • I'd take her. I tried keeping DS at home for cold symptoms when he was a baby and quickly realized that I couldn't do that every time. DD has been sniffly and coughing for just shy of a week now and has gone every day. It stinks I can't keep her home for cuddles but momma's got to work!
This! If I kept LO home every time he was sniffly, I wouldn't be able to work!  As long as LO doesn't have a fever, daycare is fine with him being there.
