After taking advices from you all I've hired a nanny for the days when my hubby would be traveling for work. I've hired her via an agency called Mother's Helpers. I have some questions which I wanted ask the mommies who've hired a nanny before or already have one -
1. Did you interview your nanny the first day of her work at your place?
2. If yes, then what all questions did you ask her?
3. How old was/is your nanny?
4. Did you tip your nanny every time you paid her?
5. Is it good to have a nanny who is in her mid 20's and above or having a nanny who is younger is better? - I personally feel having a nanny who is in her mid 20s and above is better as she'll be matured enough and would know her responsibilities towards the twins.
6. Can you trust a nanny who has been hired via an agency?
I know that my nanny has overall 6 years of experience and has 2 years experience with twins, but I don't know how old she is. The best part about my nanny is she lives just 2 blocks away from my apartment!!! How cool is that!?! I would be meeting her tomorrow for the first time.
Thanks a lot!
Re: Hiring a nanny...
7/30/12 - B/G twins born at 33w4d due to PPROM
2. Mostly about her previous experience. I liked her because she had experience w twins. We mostly just chatted informally so I could get a feel for her.
3. 36 with 12 years nanny experience
4. Nooooo
5. I wanted someone older with more experience. I also liked her because she was very calm. I tend to get frantic when both girls are screaming and she stays very calm and collected.
6. No idea. I got mine from care.com
Before I left her alone w the girls, I had her come to the house a few days while I was home alone as a mothers helper. This was very helpful for me so I could get some stuff done and also let me see her interact with the girls and get comfortable with her before I left her with them. In very happy with her so far.
