  • DD hates the nose frida but we hold her down and do it anyways... At least she can breath afterwards! I think someone on here suggested putting Vicks on a towel and then putting the towel under the fitted sheet of the crib? DD had a cold last week and we put a little bit on her chest, and then also put some on her feet and put socks over it... She sleeps pretty well regardless, but I think it made her feel better.
  • Boo colds suck! N has had one ever since Christmas Eve, and he's just finally not a snotty mess all the time. I recommend Boogie Wipes (https://www.boogiewipes.com/) for wiping. They have aloe and vitamin E and have really prevented chapped skin under his nose. He still hates getting his nose wiped, but at least it isn't painful. I hope your DD feels better soon!!

  • We use AYR for her nose, I got it from my doctor but I have heard you can get it OTC.  It's just a saline gel that I put on at night to keep her nose from crusting up overnight.  It seems to work.  We also use the humidifier and bought a vicks plug in to use in her room.  It's right by her crib so that helps.

  • Humidifier, saline, and nosefrieda are what we do. She hates the nosefrieda but like PP we do it anyway. When she has a cold we use it twice a day. I put either lotion or aquaphor on the outside of her nose to help with dryness.

This. Vicks baby rub is awesome! I put a bit on the bottoms of her feet, chest and back. I don't know what it is about the feet, but it works! We have had about a million colds already here, and there isn't much you can do other than this and Tylenol/ibuprophen. Ibuprophen especially works when she has a sore throat, or if her sinuses are hurting from being congested. I hope she feels better soon!

  • I bought saline drops for his nose. You just squirt a couple in and it works great! If he has a cold I squirt a couple in his nose before bed. It is similar to nasal saline irrigations for adults but without the irrigation.
  • @JandACoffee, how is your DD feeling?
