Anyone else having recurring nightmares about their delivery? During the day I'm not depressed or over anxious so I don't think its PPD. I had a rough delivery that involved a c-section with no anesthesia and I just can't seem to shake it
You had a c-section with no anesthesia? Oh my god, I'm sorry that happened to you.
I second @CDMay2006, maybe you should look into some sort of counseling to help you process what happened and move on.
I had a dream last night that I was pregnant again and going in for a RCS and I got upset because I couldn't understand why since it's my goal to have a VBAC for #2. I imagine when I eventually do have another baby, a lot of those fears with come up but for now I'm mostly at peace with E's birth.
I'm sorry you're going through this, I can't believe you had a c/s without the spinal block? I had an emergency c/s but I had the spinal, I can't imagine what it would have been like without it. I don't even understand how you handled the pain without being numb down there.
My SIL had a very traumatic birth with her second child where she nearly died from a blood clot and blood loss. She was having nightmares like that and even flashbacks during the day. She started seeing a counselor and it has helped tremendously, she has noticed it's getting better and all of us can tell that she is more at peace with everything. I agree that it very well could be PTSD and I think you could benefit from talking to a counselor, it certainly couldn't hurt.
