Another City Mini Double question

I'm leaning strongly toward buying the City Mini Double for our newborn and 3 year old.  However, I recently read a review that indicated the stroller becomes unwieldy and difficult to fold if you add the infant-carrier adapter.  Anyone have any experience with this?  (If true, this would be a big negative, since one reason I like the City Mini Double is that it's highly recommended for being lightweight and easy to fold!)

Re: Another City Mini Double question

  • I have read the same thing but have no experience. I can tell you it was a pain on my standard City Mini. I've noticed that Britax has a different type of adaptor for the City as my Chicco did. I recently upgraded to a City Versa instead of a CM double. My DD will also be three when the new baby comes. One poster said that you can attach another seat to the Versa (I'll have to look in a previous thread if you were interested). Since DD will be three, I'm skipping the double and buying a glider board. I don't care for the width of a double CM.

I have the City Mini double with the adaptor.  It is not difficult at all.  I can still store it standing up too, the adaptor sticks out.
Here is a picture of the single, but you can get an idea.

I am the one who was talking about using the Uppababy Rumble seat on the Versa. I need to take some pics and post them for reference!   I have heard that the adapter is really annoying on the City Mini double so I would try it out before you buy.  That said, you maybe be able to get away with just a jump seat or ride on board for a 3 year old depending on temperament.

  • I bought a city mini double when I had my DD (now 2.5 yo) and my DS who was 2.5 yo at the time (now 5 yo).

I can't speak for how it is to fold it up with the infant adapter as I never purchased that.  The City Mini is one of the few strollers that has a near flat incline and is approved for infants without the use of an infant car seat so I just bought an infant insert and used that.  It worked great and I love my stroller. I plan on doing the same with this baby.

  • We never used an infant seat with it. I put a snuzzler in and just used that on the flattest recline. I think DD was maybe 8-9 weeks old when we first used it? I probably could have used it earlier but had a c/s so I wasn't up for big outings before then. It is an awesome stroller- looking forward to using it again with #3!

After I posted to the OP, I went back to our conversation and went straight to Amazon and "wish listed" the two items you told me about. Now I'm prepared!
